GT Bicycles “Seriously Fun” – FULL VIDEO

January 2, 2018

GT Bicycles have released their entire “Seriously Fun” DVD online for your viewing pleasure!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H4UyPLGMA8

A little while back each of the sections from the GT Bicycles “Seriously Fun” DVD was released online, now today we get the full DVD all in one place for your viewing pleasure! Hit that play button and take in all 21 minutes of this gem. It’s an amazing watch from start to finish!

“In early 2015, GT took to the streets of Los Angeles and Kansas City to uncover a plethora of untapped spots across these two vastly different cities. With Ben Ward, GT BMX product and team manager at the helm, the brand released two successful shorter web videos – GT in LA and Bleeding Kansas – to kick off the beginning of a new era for GT BMX.

“GT in LA and Bleeding Kansas were incredible for the brand and showed the industry what we could do as individuals and as a team. We wanted to make sure what we did next topped them,” said Ward. “After seeing both edits, the new guys on the team were eager to start working on something original; that’s when the idea of a full-length video was proposed. The crew was fired up, and they started filming and stacking their own clips.

“Then, at the end of 2016, we reviewed their footage, jampacked with newly discovered spots and never-before-seen tricks; we knew we had something great in the making, and we began to see Seriously Fun emerge.”

Seriously Fun captures GT’s good times energy capitalizing on GT’s athletes’ signature riding styles and personalities. In Seriously Fun, viewers will see how seriously the team takes their fun from coast to coast in the US to Brazil, France, Germany, the UK, Taiwan, and more.

“It’s been a long time since GT has produced a full-length video and DVD. I can’t think of a better way to pay respect to our athletes who share the same passion for BMX. Seriously Fun reflects each personality through their approach to riding and filming,” added Ward.

When looking for partners to produce the video, Ride BMX was the obvious choice. GT has been an advertising partner with the magazine for two-and-a-half years, and most of the outlet’s editorial and video staff have been instrumental in many of GT’s recent online releases.

In addition, GT selected BMX industry videographer and editor Andrew Brady to bring Seriously Fun to life. It was Brady’s overall passion and excitement for the project which made him the main man for the job.

GT Bicycles – Albert Mercado “Seriously Fun” Section

December 8, 2017

Albert Mercado’s section from the “Seriously Fun” DVD now online!

We’re big fans of Albert Mercado here at BMX Union, and it’s easy to see why. Not only is Albert a super good human off the bike, he’s a creative and original rider that comes through with plenty of unexpected and unique tricks. His section from the GT Bicycles “Seriously Fun” DVD is now online and it’s a damn good watch. Highly, highly advise you give this a watch!

“Nobody rides quite like Albert Mercado. Al has a casual swag in his riding that shines through even when he’s doing odd-ball NBD maneuvers. Creativity, spot use, and one hell of an invert make every Albert Mercado section a good one, but this one is especially good. Filming in California, Connecticut, and Taiwan.” – Ride BMX

How To Invert with Albert Mercado

November 28, 2017

Want to learn how to Invert? Albert Mercado is here to teach you…

It’s time for another how to video! This time around we get some great advice and examples on how to do an Invert on a BMX bike from the one and only Albert Mercado. This one is focused more on how to do it on street, but it can apply to riding ramps and dirt, too! Take a peek, grab your bike and then send a few!

“Inverts are one of the most classic tricks in BMX, but you just don’t really see ’em too often on street. Well, unless you happen to be watching an Albert Mercado section. The dude has been folding his bike on various street obstacles for nearly a decade and we got him to sit down and explain the rather complex nature of getting ’em done.” – Ride BMX

“It’s here!!! GT is currently premiering their new 20-minute DVD “Seriously Fun” right here on the site for 72 hours! The video is amazing, from Brian Kachinsky‘s BANGER opening section, to the sleeper Rob Wise section, grind technician Jeff with Glasses‘ part, Albert Mercado‘s light-hearted and uber-creative section, or the savage Dan Conway‘s HEATER of an ender. There are also appearances from the rest of the team like a short but sweet section from Jason Phelan, and a mix from the AM and flow crew. The video has feel-good vibes throughout and some seriously insane riding. High-speed gaps, gap to rails, huge/tall rails and hubbas, unique but gnarly setups, creative/tech jibs, spot use, crusty spots, Cali spots, this is GT BMX in 2017 and it’s pretty damn awesome.

A few weeks back the GT Bicycles team made a trip on over to Taiwan to spend a week and a half exploring the place, riding spots and just experiencing everything the place has to offer. There’s a fully edited video from the trip coming, but Ride BMX just dropped this raw cut with 32 minutes of footage showing what the crew got into.
