Mutiny Bikes – Jeff Wescott 2017 Comb Line Promo

Mutiny Bikes just dropped a fresh promo video for the Jeff Wescott signature Comb Frame and Bars. This video is pretty short and sweet, but it’s loaded with some really solid clips that bring plenty of style and creativity to the table. Mutiny Bikes – 2017 Comb Frame

The 2017 Comb frame is made from 100% 4130 Sanko Chromoly tubing with a 74.9-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 9″ standover height and a 13.2″ (slammed) chainstay length. The frame features a 125mm tall, 420 Baked heat-treated, offset thickness, Integrated head tube, top and down tube gussets, an integrated seat post clamp with a horizontal cut for better clamping, a Mid bottom bracket, curved seat and chainstay bridges for 2.40″ tire clearance, removable brake mounts and 6mm thick dropouts with integrated chain tensioners.

The 2017 Comb frame is available in 20.8″, 21.1″ and 21.3″ top tube lengths, translucent orange for the only color and a weight of 5 lbs. flat (20.8″) with a price tag of $330.00. Their new For Peace 4-piece bars are made right here in the U.S.A from Straight Gauge .083″ Wall 4130 chromoly tubing with a 9″ rise, 29″ width, 10.5-degrees of backsweep and 4-degrees of upsweep with a big box design and large top bend radiuses to increase the overall strength.

Here’s a little sneak peek action for you. Wethepeople just dropped this preview of their new Felix Prangenberg signature Pathfinder Bars that will be available later this year. These four-piece bars are made from thicker, reinforced 4130 chromoly tubing with a ovalized crossbar for stiffness and strength.

The Pathfinders will be available in 9″ and 9.6″ rise options, along with 22.2mm and the oversized 25.4mm size for the stronger bar and stem combination.

BSD Introduce Gorilla Grip Over Size Bar and Stem System (25.4mm)

Will we start seeing more bars and stems available in 25.4mm? It looks that way..

It looks like Wethepeople and Eclat aren’t the only ones giving the 25.4mm size bars and stems a go. The crew at BSD will be offering their new “Gorilla Grip OS System” with over sized 25.4mm bars and stems a go. The system increases the diameter of the bars tubing that meets the stem for increased clamping area (roughly 14% more) from 7/8″ to the bigger 25.4mm (1″) size. The size change might not be excessively obvious, but the larger tubing of the bars and stem does increase surface area for clamping, which does help resist slipping better.

The Raider, Safari and Passenger bars will all be available in this new 25.4mm size, along with their existing 7/8″ size they were originally made in. So, you don’t have to convert if you aren’t feeling buying a new stem and bars.

Here’s a look at a 7/8″ bar on the left next to the new 25.4mm (1″) bar on the right. The change isn’t super noticeable. Unfortunately you MUST use a 25.4mm stem with 25.4mm bars, and 7/8″ stems with 7/8″ bars since these aren’t cross compatible.

The new Gorilla Grip OS System stems look like the originals, just a little bigger diameter for the bars to fit in.
