We’re pretty sure this is the first time we’ve seen a video from Max Heitmann, but it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing more from him. The Inspirational Story of a Bionic-Leg BMXer Edson Perna

Edson Perna might have a bionic leg, but that didn’t stop him from riding BMX…

It’s always amazing seeing riders that have overcome their disabilities to keep riding. Edson Perna is a perfect example of that. When Edson was 16, he was hit by a car and lost his right leg. After the accident, he wasn’t able to enjoy riding as much, but it was what made him happy. Fortunately, Bionicenter came through with a sponsorship and made it so he could have a prosthetic leg that worked with riding BMX. Here’s a video that the Role Crew put together where Edson tells his story of the accident, how he ended up working with Binoicenter and how his perseverance lead him to riding in the Vans BMX Pro Cup riding with guys who he had grown up watching and admiring. Amazing story!
