November 8, 2016

The Division Brand crew tend to make some pretty frequent trips to California. Here’s a new video featuring Jake “Dizzy” Deering putting in the work on spots he came across during a recent visit. Jake was super productive and had no problem finding countless setups to put all four of his pegs to good use. Hit play and check out what he came up with!

“Jake “Dizzy” Deering makes the most of a 10 day trip to California.. soaking in the sun and riding “cali spots” with his good friend Jack Kelly and the rest of the Division Brand / Colony squad. Keep your eyes peeled for a HEAVY Colony section dropping from Jack in a few days.

“Jake “Dizzy” Deering takes his first overseas trip and chooses California for his destination with his good friend Jack Kelly. Riding everyday for 3 weeks running on the fuel of fresh spots and sunny days Dizzy took advantage of every spot we rode and came out with a great video from his trip.”

“Nearly 4K” – James Chalmers

November 8, 2016

Keeping the party going, here’s James Chalmers‘ section from the “Nearly 4K” video for your viewing pleasure! As expected, James brings a section heavy on the grinds and keeps things interesting from start to finish with some rad spots.

Watch more from the Nearly 4K video right here!

“Another day, another section from the excellent Nearly 4K DVD, and this time it’s powerball James Chalmers. Despite already having strong beard genes, it seems that James also got a hefty dose of 360 skill in with those X and Y chromosomes. Serious Scottish shredding.

Behind the Scenes of “Ride” The Movie

November 8, 2016

If you have been on Instagram lately, there’s a good chance you might have caught some glimpses into a new movie that’s in the works that is based around BMX. More specifically, it’s based around the incredible life of Haro‘s brand manager, John Buultjens, and how a new family and BMX completely changed his outlook on life and his future completely. This movie has a pretty interesting cast from a number of pro riders to guys like rapper / actor Ludacris and more! Hit play to check out a news story on the movie that gives you some details. We’re really looking forward to this one. John’s story is absolutely amazing and unless you have crossed paths with him, you probably haven’t heard it. This movie should really open up a lot of peoples eyes well beyond BMX riders.

“Chris “Ludachris” Bridges, Sasha Alexander, Ali Afshar and John Buultjens are interviewed about their upcoming project “Ride” – KTVU CBS 2 News”

Jake Ortiz Wallride Crash

November 8, 2016

We’re not quite sure what it is about crash clips, but they always suck you in. This clip of Jake Ortiz clipping on a big wall ride to gap over a rail ended up in our feed this morning and we ended up watching it a few times. We then realized there were nearly 8,000 views on the video in the last day, so apparently people are still mesmerized by crashes. Let’s just feed the beast and post this up, right? The only downside to watching this is all we can think about is how much we would have loved to see Jake rocking a helmet in this situation. Luckily he walked away with a little scuff on the arm and that’s it.

Jonathan Comacho – Riding For A Dream

November 8, 2016

It’s always pretty interesting seeing where BMX can take somebody, and it’s always really interesting to see where they came from and what it took to make a dream like becoming a professional rider a reality. It’s a lot easier from somebody with plenty of resources than it is for a rider that doesn’t have much to work with. Despite the challenges, Jonathan Comacho has worked hard to make it possible for him show everyone what he’s capable of on a bike. Unfortunately, without sponsors and more to help keep Jonathan on the move, it gets complicated quickly to maintain the constant travel schedule for contests and more. Above is a video giving you a little insight into what it has taken for Jonathan to get out there so far, but he needs a little help making the next move. There has been a GoFundMe page setup to help support him to hopefully make this dream of being a pro rider a reality. You can check that all out RIGHT HERE. Maybe this will put him on a few brands radars as well.

“Jonathan Camacho is a world class freestyle BMX rider. He comes from a small beach town in Ecuador called Playas Villamil. Growing up under the injustice of poverty, he knows that only with determination and drive will he be able to conquer the obstacles in the way of his dreams.

At age 14, he build his own BMX ramp at home. Since then, with support of his friends, family and local sponsors, he manage to compete and win many titles internationally. Now, at age 23, after competing at the FISE World Series 2016, he has positioned himself among the world’s top ten.

Unfortunately, freestyle BMX is not yet an olympic sport, making him dependent on private donors and local sponsorship. FISE and partners are pushing hard to make it an olympic sport in time for the next games, that way, talented athletes like Jonathan who have limited or no access to training facilities, sponsorship and mentorship can aspire to professional careers.

In the meantime, Jonathan needs our help in order to continue competing at the highest levels. Travel, equipments and medical expenses add up over the course of the competitive season, and Jonathan needs our support to remain competitive.
