Feeble Talk – Demarcus Paul

April 28, 2017

The latest Feeble Talk episode from Ride BMX has arrived. This time around Ryan Fudger sat down with a recently injured Demarcus Paul to talk about filming projects, sponsor changes, non-riding stuff, future plans and more. If you got over an hour to work with, hit play and take it all in!

“Welcome to Feeble Talk Home Edition. Aka Low-Fi. Aka the studio squad was busy all week. Aka there’s no green screen and the audio isn’t as good either because I don’t have foam on my walls. But yes, let’s not have that distract from what I think is probably the most solid, interesting FT (that I’ve done, at least) with Volume/Animal pro Demarcus Paul…

Courtesy Timeline:
3:40 – How Demarcus fractured his leg
6:35 – iTunes section with Christian Rigal
10:10 – Working at a chicken factory in Southern Georgia
13:20 – Losing everything and moving to California
20:20 – Carless in San Diego
27:35 – Turning down Volume Am and waiting for Pro
32:00 – Leaving Merritt and joining Animal
38:00 – Early influential video part (Ian Munro – Kink Wasted Days)
41:44 – Recent influential video part (Christian Rigal – Still United)
43:40 – Demo’s top five favorite tooth hangers of all time
49:40 – Peer Q&A (AKA, the Volume team asks Demo questions via video)
1:11:23 – Demarcus wants to be a motivational speaker

It was just announced last week that Demarcus Paul had been given the very well deserved bump on up to the Animal Bikes Pro team. With that news, they figured it would be a good time to catch up with Demarcus to get a closer look at his current Volume War Horse setup decked out top to bottom in Volume and Animal Bikes parts. You can check out a bunch of photos of the bike, along with a full parts list, over on the Animal Bikes website. Check it out here — Demarcus Paul Bike Check

Animal Bikes Demarcus Paul Pro Team BMX

It looks like the Animal Bikes Pro Team continues to get stacked even more! First it was Courage Adams, then it was Andrew Castaneda and now it looks like Demarcus Paul has been given a well deserved spot on the Animal Bikes Pro Team so far in 2017! Demarcus has been on fire the past few years and it’s easy to see just why they gave him this opportunity. X Games “Real BMX” 2017 Riders and Filmers Announced

March 2, 2017

It’s that time of the year again! X Games have just announced the 6 riders that will be filming a video part for the “Real BMX” contest! Like last year, each rider will be working with one filmer to create their best video part possible. After that there will be a fan vote, and then judges that will pick the winners.

The “Real BMX” riders for 2017 will be.

1. Alex Donnachie

2. Chad Kerley

3. Demarcus Paul

4. Nathan Williams

5. Colt Fake

6. Dave Krone

We were surprised to see Colt Fake’s name pop up again for this since he had a Real BMX section last year. We are assuming he got picked to do another video because he won the Fan Vote. Regardless, we’re stoked to see what he cooks up again.

Each rider has officially announced who they will be filming with as well…

Currently out in Portugal ?? filming for an @xgames #realbmx part with @davesowerby So honoured to be a part of this event ????? @bakosphoto

A post shared by Alex Donnachie (@alex_donnachie) on Feb 28, 2017 at 11:43am PST

As soon as we saw Alex Donnachie will be filming a part, we knew there was no way he would be going with anyone beside BSD‘s filmer, Dave Sowerby. Sure enough, that was his pick and we’re bound to see something amazing out of those two.

Hyped on the invite from @xgames to work on a #RealBMX part with @christianrigal. It's lit!

A post shared by CK (@chadkerley) on Feb 28, 2017 at 10:06am PST

We knew as soon as we saw Chad Kerley on the list that he will be working with Christian Rigal for his section. That’s one hell of a duo that always yields amazing results.

Beyond thankful and unbelievably stoked that @mikemastroni and I will be part of the @xgames #realbmx contest this year! The videos will air on ABC this June!

A post shared by DeMarcus Paul (@demarcuspaul) on Feb 28, 2017 at 10:08am PST

We’re weren’t shocked to see that Demarcus Paul will be working with Volume Bikes filmer Mike Mastroni for his section. They’ve been filming together for a few years now and it makes for a super good team.

So stoked and grateful to get invited to film a part for @xgames #RealBmx with @peteradam this year! It's going to be a fun next couple weeks!

A post shared by Nathan Williams (@united_nathan) on Feb 28, 2017 at 10:50am PST

We weren’t quite sure if Nathan Williams would go with his go to guy, Will Stroud, for his section, but it looks like he’s going to use United‘s go to filmer, Peter Adam for his video. That’s another super dialed pick for a filmer. Peter has been producing some phenomenal videos for a while now, so they should end up with a banger of a video.

Hey everyone! Super excited to announce that @darryltocco and I will be at it again for @xgames #realbmx. We are mid way through filming and can't wait to finish! coming out in June! Thank you again @stew1201 for this amazing opportunity

A post shared by Colt Fake (@coltfake) on Feb 28, 2017 at 10:00am PST

Colt Fake has announced on Instagram that he will be working with Darryl Tocco again. That’s one hell of a combination that we know will produce good results.

Super stoked ?on the invite to 2017 @xgames #Realbmx video project with @yo_navaz

A post shared by y☮guy (@kavedrone) on Feb 28, 2017 at 9:58am PST

Dave Krone will be working with Ryan Navazio for the contest. You already know with Ryan handling the film work things will be looking top notch.

So that is a look at the X Games Real BMX Riders and Filmers for 2017! Who do you think will be taking the win this year? Let us know in the comments below what your vote is now!

Volume Bikes – 3 Days In Vancouver

October 17, 2016

It seems like Vancouver is one of those places that always leads to some amazing riding thanks to what appears to be endless spots. Some of the Volume Bikes crew spent a few days exploring the city, stacking clips on all the spots they came across. They ended up with this banger of a video packed full of amazing riding for your viewing pleasure. Check it out!

“Our guys Mike Mastroni, Josh Clemens, Broc Raiford, Demarcus Paul and our Canadian riders, Owen Dawson, Tristan Sweet and Joel Dykstra did a couple shop stops at 3 Ride and Rock Bay BMX in Canada and on their off time (3 days) they ended up riding some amazing spots and getting a ton of clips. Hard to believe they got this much done in such a short amount of time.

Huge thanks to our Canadian distributor Kill Em All Distro for making it happen. Also thanks to 3 RIDE Vancouver and Rock Bay BMX for having us at their shops.

Filmed & Edited by Mike Mastroni”
