James Newrick “NSF2” Section

March 29, 2016

What were you doing 14 years ago? Well, if you are James Newrick, you would have been putting in work on street spots an skateparks over in the U.K for the “NSF2” video. Fast forward 14 years and Jim just put out part one of Hit The North, still slaying spots with his friends like he was years ago. Hit play and enjoy this classic!

“Anyone around my age with an interest in street riding should be more than familiar with James Newrick’s NSF 2 part, which was released on VHS in 2002. Even now, whenever I hear that Peter Hook bassline on Joy Division’s Shadowplay it makes me want to go and hop something in a bleak Northern setting. The BMX world has changed so much since NSF 2 that it’s hard to explain how sacred BMX videos such as this were.” – James Cox / DIG BMX

Nick Seabasty – Low Profile

March 27, 2016

DIG just released this fresh new BMX video featuring Nick Seabasty tearing up spots out east and down south in the desert! As always, Nick puts his pegs to heavy use and finds ways to ride some difficult to ride spots. Check it!

“Nick Seabasty has been working on this one for over a year now, taking a knock to the head which set things back for a bit, but with a trip to AZ and some Looking For Spots in his home state of New Jersey this has got a bit of everything. That last kinker is a beast!”

“I’m always out LFSing or just pedaling around with friends. Back in NJ, we’d always just have the camera with us and if we found a spot we’d hit it and keep going. I love that way of filming instead of stressing over a spot for a while but it happens and it’s always a good feeling getting it. As for this project it was kinda hectic.. I started it a little over a year ago but with moving around a lot it was more difficult than I thought.. Finding someone to film with was scarce while bouncing around and getting all the clips to Smallfry to edit was just as hard (laughs) that and a pretty serious head injury took me out of filming for a few months while in AZ. I didn’t really feel like myself riding wise till this past July actually.” – Nick Seabasty

Wethepeople – “Clutchin’ At Straws” In Sicily

March 24, 2016

Some of the Wethepeople team recently took a trip to Sicily to see just what the place had to offer! Although it doesn’t sound like the place had a ton to offer for spots, the entire crew were able to crush every spot they did come across and ended up with this dialed BMX video! Check the highlights above!

“Sometimes you make a gamble and it pays off. Sometimes it doesn’t. Wethepeople’s Mike Curley, Ed Zunda, Jordan Godwin, and Mo Nussbaumer had seen the Italian island of Sicily pop up in quite a few skateboarding videos recently so in January they decided to see what the island had to offer for two wheels. Well, it didn’t go quite to plan – spots were minimal and the guys spent almost every evening on google maps and skate apps trying to find things, at one point Mo got excited because he found a manny pad… it was definitely slim pickings. Every day was spent searching and for such a battle the video actually worked out really well! Curley comes through with some of that signature tech, Mo with the grind tailwhip game on point, Godwin with a juicy old hard 3 and more… and Zunda with that effortless control. Good job lads!

We hope you enjoy.

Division Brand – Chris Whyte 2016 Video

March 15, 2016

Chris Whyte is one of those riders that we don’t see a ton of footage on a regular basis. However, when we do see his name pop up, we know we’re in for a treat. This new Division Brand BMX video is a clear indicator of that because it’s packed from start to finish with rail and ledge destruction. If you love grinds, you have to watch this!

“Chris Whyte spent the past 10 months stacking footage for his latest Division Brand video. With footage coming from Melbourne, Sydney and California he hunted down every rail he could find for this project.

Charles LittleJohn – The Introduction

March 14, 2016

We have been seeing Charles LittleJohn‘s name popping up more and more lately, and it’s obvious as to just why… The guy is an absolute shredder. DIG just dropped this banger of of a video featuring Charles putting in some serious work out on every spot from rails and ledges to massive stair sets. This guy has that effortless style that makes things look easy… The ender to this video is absolute FIRE. Hit play and enjoy!

“We’re psyched to be able to premiere this new gem from Charles LittleJohn and the camera of Kelly Bolton! Charles is unreal…

“When I first met Charles, I immediately could see he had a gift for riding. He would be casually doing these crazy tricks on a manual pad or a ledge in Venice and it just blew my mind how good he made each trick look. I was also hyped that he’s from my hometown of Venice Beach which if you didn’t know doesn’t have very many locals. Eventually we started filming and I started hitting him up to ride with LAX. The kid is so chill and down to earth that everyone took to him super fast. You can see him get some shine in our recent Weekenz edits, but he’s never had a full web part to himself. Thus the title “The Introduction” this is essentially the first look most people will have on Charles specificly and I couldn’t be more hyped on his first go at it. Thanks to FitBikes, Animal, PeepGame, TheeBlock, OSS for hooking him up and noticed the same thing we did. Cheers!” -Kelly Bolton

Fly Bikes – Sergio Layos 2016 Video

March 11, 2016

If you saw one or all the teasers dropping online this past week for Sergio Layos‘ new Fly Bikes video, you were probably anxiously waiting for today all week. Now the video is hear and damn is it good! Sergio Layos brings his classic speed and style to everything he touches and this BMX video came out so good. Absolute MUST SEE.

“It must be the upbringing, the culture, the vibe or just a different overall outlook on life and riding, but somehow the riders that Spain breeds have shaped a style that others aspire to emulate. Sergio Layos is at the forefront of this with unique simplicity, speed and being almost ‘as one’ with the bike’s synergy, epitomising this generations’ riders and those that came before him with his pure ‘Suave estilo’.

“I’m super stoked with the result of this, my latest Flybikes video, filmed by Hugo Almeida. Hugo and I have been friends since the early contest days in Portugal and it’s amazing to be able to work with him. Stefan Lantschner and Courage Adams were also on hand to help film, riding some amazing terrain in Catalonia where we spent a few days on some of my favourite spots in the country. Included are also clips from Malaga where I ran into Hugo by accident! The whole video was filmed in less than a week and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Hope you guys like it as much as I do.” – Sergio Layos
