Seppl Pospischil – The 25th Year

December 8, 2020

We’re not quite sure how we missed this one, but this gem has been online for almost two months! 2020 marks 25 years of BMX for Seppl Posphishil, and to celebrate he whipped up this new edit filled with amazing flatland, street and park clips. Seppl has creative style that mixes the different styles of riding together, similar to Matthias Dandois, that keeps you guessing just what might come next. Hit play because this is a real good watch!

“In fact, the last three years of BMX riding have been an emotional roller coaster. I’ve had back problems for a long time (who doesn’t have them) and in between a hip damage, which luckily has healed. At the beginning of 2020 I destroyed my shoulder after I was finally fit again with my back. I used the break to clean up my archive and found various unpublished material (180+ clips!). In addition, I had to state that I can celebrate my 25th BMX anniversary in BMX 2020 So what could be more natural than to make a video from the material?

To see the thing finished now has a “treat”. Unfortunately, driving flatland seriously has not been possible for a long time. My back allowed driving street earlier. Often, against better knowledge, my ego came through, which was promptly acknowledged with lumbago. You just have to listen to your body more and switch to vacation mode if necessary. I had to learn that first. My kids and my wife are mainly responsible for the good vibes in the video, who forced me to look in front of the camera on our trips, even if I sometimes didn’t want to. For that a big THANK YOU and therefore the home video character in one place or another 😉

Many thanks also go to SIBMX / Bodo Hellwig for 17 years of excellent support. And I would also like to thank Ali from Moto for the pedals and the kunstform BMX Shop for everything else.

Somehow this video comes full circle. 25 years ago I started riding BMX as a youngster in the skate park, now I’m back with my boys. Let’s see what the future will bring … I’m definitely up for it!

Cheers” – Seppl Pospischi

Old Boys Reunion at Skatehalle Aurich

December 3, 2020

When there’s a Rodeo Grind in the cover photo, you are required by BMX law to watch it.

Ohhh yeah. Here’s one that will get the Mid School riders psyched. Freedom BMX dug into the archive and pulled out this gem from 2012 featuring a few of Germany’s finest throwing down at Skatehall Aurich. The cover photo alone had us stoked to hit play on this one. We’re pretty sure we posted this one when it originally came out, but it’s definitely worth a repost. Everything from the riding to the music is so good and will definitely bring anyone who has been riding for 10+ years back. Even th Hit play and enjoy! We definitely miss seeing this kind of BMX video.

“Blast from the blast from 2012 with German BMX GOATS Tobias Wicke, Björn “Bommel” Mager, Sergej Geier, Markus Braumann and Jan Bekurtz shredding Germany’s biggest indoor park aka Skatehalle Aurich.

For today’s #damalsdonnerstag we travel back to the year 2012. Back then Felix Prangenberg, Paul Thölen and Dean Florian weren’t the most blatant drivers in Germany, but guys like Tobias Wicke, Björn “Bommel” Mager, Sergej Geier and Markus Braumann. Here is a video that the All-Stars filmed eight years ago in the Aurich skate hall, where there was no Advent jam for the first time in over 20 years. You don’t know what to shake your head about anymore. That one of the most beautiful traditions of the German BMX scene was interrupted or how far ahead of their time the guys were back then. Real goats, uh, goats are that. MÄÄÄH!

Here is the text of the video on our page from 2012:
“Tobias Wicke, Björn” Bommel “Mager, Sergej Geier, Markus Braumann and Jan Bekurtz locked themselves for a few days in the Playground Skatehalle Aurich. It goes without saying that Bommel had his camera equipment with him in addition to his bike, which was currently without brakes we will witness today that they not only competed in transitions there, but surprisingly also spent a lot of time on the many grind obstacles in Germany’s largest skate hall. But see for yourself … ”

Fit X Allride – Kilian Reichmeyer 2020 Video

November 30, 2020

Fit Bike Co.‘s connect over in Germany through Allride Distribution, Kilian Reichmeyer coming through with a fresh batch of footage from the sessions he has been getting out in the streets. Take a look at all these real solid clips!

“Kilian Reichmeyer on fire, killing it on the streets of Munich (Germany) for @Fitbikeco. and AllRide BMX Distribution. Yeww!

After the new video by Kilian Reichmeyer for Fitbikeco. and AllRide BMX Distribution celebrated its world premiere last weekend as part of our big “freedombmx Awards 2020” online award ceremony (see HERE), the thing is now also available as a single on our YouTube channel. And with what? Rightly of course!

Because the edit is a decent board, for which Kilian has been busy piling one hammer clip after the next on the streets of Munich over the past few months. There is also one or two clips from Cologne, but only marginally. It is much more important that you click on “Play” immediately. Kilian is going off – and really!

Cancelled Crew – Tim Schoberth “Your Eyes”

October 11, 2020

Freedom BMX coming through with a fresh Tim Schoberth video for your viewing pleasure. Tim goes to work on street spot with no shortage of grinds with and without pegs, making for a real solid watch. Hit play and take a look!

“Groovy, dude! Canceled crew member Tim Schoberth grinding down his pedals all over Germany.

Tim Schoberth was just behind the camera at Artur Meister’s contribution to our Bangers video contest, when he changes sides again and slips into the role of the main actor again for a change. In “Your Eyes” the canceled crew member melts a number of pedals, but two pegs have also found their way back to his rider, which makes for a varied mix of tricks. The whole thing is garnished with the psychedelic visuals typical of Tim’s videos and a soundtrack that is not exactly chart-suitable. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? So open your senses and then hit “Play”!

DSK X FourPegs BMX – Loretto Plaza Jam

September 8, 2020

We’ve been seeing more jam videos starting to surface online lately, which is nice to see after a super of lockdowns. Here’s a highlight video from the DSK X Fourpegs BMX Jam that went down at the Loretto Plaza park! It looks like they had a solid turn out and a real good session. Hit play to see just what went down!

“Against all odds in 2020, the DSK Crew and Fourpegsbmx Shop still managed to throw a sweet jam at the Loretto Plaza just outside of Vienna, Austria! Everyone shredded hard and Tyrone Kelly was at hand to record everything! Can’t wait for next year!

Aichwald Trails Summer 2020

September 7, 2020

We’re always stoked when some fresh trails footage surfaces online. Freedom BMX uploaded this new one from the sessions that have been going down at the Aichwald Trails over in Germany. Despite COVID shutting things down for a while, it looks like they were still able to salvage the summer with some proper sessions with friends. Hit play to check out what went down! This place looks like a ton of fun to ride.

“TRAILS ARE FOR THE PEOPLE!

The year 2020 has not been the easiest for us on the Aichwaldtrails, as probably for pretty much everyone in the (BMX) world. We had to cancel our jam for the 15th anniversary, we weren’t allowed to drive until June, etc. Of course we didn’t just sit on the couch and wait until the “sports facilities” were allowed to reopen, but without further ado we have a new pump track and a new beginner line built, which has expanded our range of fun for all ages and skill levels.

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of enjoying a successful trail session knows how difficult it is to put the cross bike aside for a moment in order to capture the rare spectacle. Even if the ski jumping hill season started later than usual for us this year, we managed to keep the camera on it every now and then over the summer.

Due to an injury, I had a lot of time in the last few weeks and therefore put the clips that have been filmed so far in this video. Warning: The video contains neither professional stunts nor was it professionally produced. You can only see good friends who have fun jumping over their self-made heaps of earth and sharing the whole thing with friends and guests from all over Europe!

If someone is interested and wants to stop by for a session (or more), they can contact us at any time. As you all know, riding trails is not like riding a skate / bike park. There is work to be done during every session, if we get help, that’s enough. Nobody has to shovel with us all winter long at 5 degrees and drizzling rain.

TRAILS ARE FOR THE PEOPLE!

Thanks to the guys from the kunstform BMX Shop for the almost never ending support. Thanks to all the locals who keep the spot going and improve it year after year: Andi, Michel, Tim, Momo, Beyer.

Lame 2020 – M-Trails In Magdenburg

September 2, 2020

There’s been a handful of event videos start to surface online now that some countries are opening things back up. Here’s one from a trails jam at the M-Trails over in Magdeburg, Germany. We don’t know much about the trails or why they called this Lame 2020, but this year has been pretty lame. Either way, this event looks like it was a ton of fun with some perfect weather. Hit play for highlights from the event, along with results and more down below!

Pannonian Challenge 2020 – BMX Park Highlights

September 1, 2020

There haven’t been too many BMX contests that have gone down this summer thanks to COVID, but the Pannonian Challenge over in Croatia wasn’t about to let that stop them from throwing their 21st annual contest. Hit play to check out a bunch of highlights from the contest with plenty of big names in attendance to throw down!

“Despite these strange times the 21st edition of the Pannonian Challenge recently took place in the City of Osijek, Croatia. Luka Kovič managed to get some riding clips from some of the best riders in the world and Catfish. Hopefully next year we will see more BMX Freestyle Park events like this again! Stay safe and keep on riding!

After there was little or nothing going on in the “Jams & Contests” category in the past few months due to corona, this division of freedombmxTV is now slowly but surely starting up again with caution. For example, the other day we were at the LAME 2020 at the M-Trails in Magdeburg (video is coming soon) and soon we will go up to the far north, more precisely to Flensburg, for the replacement event for the Butcher Jam.

But also in the rest of Europe something is happening here and there. Not so long ago, for example, in Osijek (Croatia), a stripped-down version of the renowned Pannonian Challenge was held in camera. Despite Corona, the BMX park contest there surprised with an astonishingly international starter field, which included Daniel Dhers and delegations from England (Jack Clark, Kieran Reilly) and France (Anthony Jeanjean, Istvan Caillet).

In the video above there are some clips from the men that Luka Kovič from Evolution BMX kindly captured for us on site. Thanks a lot for this!

PANNONIAN CHALLENGE 2020 BMX PRO PARK RESULTS:
1. Jack Clark (GBR), 86.00
2. Istvan Caillet (FRA), 82.83
3. Daniel Dhers (VEN), 81.50
4. Michael Beran (CZE), 80.17
5. Marin Ranteš (HRV), 79.83

7. Kieran Reilly (GBR), 73.67
8. Anthony Jeanjean (FRA), 72.67
9. Martin Habada (CZE), 68.33
10. Alessandro Barbero (ITA), 68.00
11. Kryštof Odehnal (CZE), 65.67
