February 13, 2018

To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the “Electronical” DVD, Odyssey have given it a re-up for your viewing pleasure! Like they say, time flies when you’re having fun! Odyssey released their “Electronical” DVD 10 years ago today and even after all these years it’s a complete banger! Hit play to check out this video featuring Jim Cielencki, Jimmy Levan, Matt Beringer, Aaron Ross, Taj Mihelich, Chase Hawk, KC Badger, Adam Banton, Danny Hickerson, Mike Aitken, Gary Young and many more (Talk about a completely legendary line up of riders) going to work on street spots, skateparks, trails and more! One fun fact about this video that always blows our minds is that this was the first full 1080P DVD that came out. Watching it for the first time made everyone’s minds melt since it was some of the highest quality BMX footage many had seen. Even though this version isn’t as high definition as the original DVD, it’s amazing.. Will Stroud did an amazing job on the filming and editing for this one!

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the Electronical video premiere. Time flies! We have re-upped the video in case you have never seen it.

TEDx – Jim Cielencki “Discovering I Knew Nothing About My City”

January 5, 2017

It’s always interesting seeing what riders and industry guys get into when they move on from BMX or just get into when they aren’t riding. As many of you know, a few years back Jim Cielencki stepped away from running Sunday Bikes, which he originally started with the guys at Odyssey. Since then, Jim has actually got really into running and last year he ran EVERY street in Buffalo, New York leading up to running a marathon. After he wrapped that up, he decided to give doing one of the TEDx talks telling his story about running. This really doesn’t have anything to do with BMX, but it’s an interesting watch. Take a look.

Jim Cielencki Has An Official Day

May 25, 2016

A video posted by Jim Cielencki (@jimcielencki) on May 24, 2016 at 12:08pm PDT

It’s always awesome seeing what BMX riders get into “after BMX” so to speak. If you follow Jim Cielencki on Facebook or Instagram, you probably saw that he’s been heavy into running after selling his share of Sunday Bikes a few years ago. After setting, and completing, the goal, of running every single street of Buffalo, New York, on top of other things, the city decided to name May 29th “Jim Cielencki Day”. Not too many people in BMX can say they have a day other than Chase Hawk Day in Austin, Texas! Congratulations, Jim!

“Well, this just happened….the city of Buffalo just proclaimed this Sunday, May 29th 2016 to be Jim Cielencki Day. This is overwhelming and slightly ridiculous feeling. Now to figure out how to celebrate.”

Jim Cielencki Leaves Sunday Bikes

May 12, 2014

BIKE-SIT_600x

Well here’s some news we didn’t expect. Jim Cielencki has announced that he will be leaving Sunday Bikes after 9 years of being the co-owner and brand manager. We’re not sure exactly why he chose to step away, but you can find out more below! Really caught off guard by this one, that’s for sure.

“This day was bound to come eventually. As of mid-May I will be leaving Sunday Bikes. This was obviously a difficult decision for me since I co-founded Sunday with Odyssey back in 2005 and I’ve been working on it every day for the last 9 years. It’s truly been an amazing experience learning the bike industry, traveling with the team and most important of all, meeting so many BMXers from around the world.

My main goal with Sunday was to do interesting things with every aspect of the company and if you’ve been paying attention since we’ve started then you know that we’ve done that many times over. Sunday has always been in great hands with everyone at Odyssey/Full Factory standing behind it, and that’s where it is going to continue to grow, with lots of exciting projects already in development for 2015.

So, now I’m off to new creative adventures. I just want to say that I’m truly honored by all the people that supported and rode a Sunday during my time with the company. Even after all these years, I’m completely stoked when I see a person riding one. BMX as a whole has never seemed brighter when you consider how amazing riders are today and when you look at the progress of the younger riders it’s clear that things are going to only get crazier. I’m very excited to cheer it all on from the sidelines.

Thank you” – Jim Cielencki
