HB Super 8 Vans Session
One of the best things about BMX is how it can mesh so well with certain things. When it comes to style, classic music, or in this case, classic film work go together some damn well. Here’s a video Matt Cordova whipped together with his Super 8 camera from a proper session at the Vans park in Huntington Beach. This one is far from high definition, but it still looks great. Take a peek!
“Kris Fox, Nathan Sykes and myself get together to ride the Vans bowl in Huntington Beach. We decided to put my $10 super8 I bought at a thrift store to the test. Here’s what we got.

Ryan Guettler – Vans Opens the Bowls to BMX
It looks like Ryan Guettler is getting into the webisode game! For his first video, he heads to the Vans Huntington Beach park to catch the first back bowls session with Kris Fox, Ricky Moseley, Matt Cordova and a bunch of others! It sounds like the bowls will be open to BMX riders every Wednesday, so if you’re in the area, take advantage of that! Otherwise, just enjoy this video!
“I never believed it when people were talking about it but the rumors are true. Vans shoes has opened up the back bowl section the BMX Family.
I knew the grand opening would be off the wall but when it took me few to find a open spot in the car park. I knew it was popping off and bmx riders from all over were sending it.
Unlocking all the new lines is what the day was about. Vans riders like Kris Fox and Larry Edger made it a mission to go the highest and do lines before any one else could see them.
I over heard one skater say “Took Tony Hawk 2 hours to do that line” to Kris Fox after watching him do his 2nd run of the day.
Its nothing but amazing times so don’t skip the next chance to come ride and flow around the incredible bowls.
This is a thank you edit to vans shoes.
Thanks Vans Since 1966”

Build Your Own Fun
It’s pretty wild what you can do with a few bags of cement, plywood and a bunch of broken up concrete chunks and rocks. Check out this crazy DIY spot that Nathan Sykes, Evan Lane and Matt Cordova recently built out in this old abandoned ditch spot in California. This video Ride BMX starts out giving you a look into the project, followed by riding from those guys, along with Keith Treanor and Larry Edgar! Definitely a video worth giving a watch!
“D.I.Y. Do it yourself. More like D.I.W.F. Do it with friends. That’s what this whole project was about. We wanted to build something of our own. And well, we didn’t exactly know what we were doing, but that’s what made it fun! Life is about making memories with the people that you surround
yourself with and being able to create your own excitement. Building this quarter was more work than we had all imagined, but in the end it was well worth it. Go out and build your own fun!” — Nathan Sykes
BMX Meets Curie from Intel
America's Greatest Makers Digital Episode 1
Intel is helping BMX riders improve their riding and land bigger tricks through data. Watch our digital episode at AmericasGreatestMakers.com #Americasgreatestmakers
Posted by Americas Greatest Makers on Monday, January 11, 2016
Here’s an interesting one that Jon over at Can You Dig It tipped us off to. Intel have developed this chip that can collect a bunch of data that can be some what valuable to BMX riders like speed, rotation and height. Above is a video they produced giving you a little insight into what this chip, which they are calling Curie, is capable of. The BMX video above features Victor Salazar and Matt Cordova catching a session and looking at the numbers that Curie produces from their runs. Now, you might have noticed that I referred to that data as some what valuable. One of the biggest reasons I say that is because a lot of riding is going off feel and what feels right for you. If you case, you know to go faster or pump better, if you under rotate, you are definitely going to know it. However, this kind of data can be real beneficial if it could be tied into contests some how. Speed, height and rotation data could be really beneficial when it comes to scoring a contest. Shit, if it could detect what tricks were being done and rider style, we might even have a way to replace the judge all together. That’s almost a scary thought though, haha. Either way, technology is advancing and it’s pretty cool seeing a large corporation like Intel looking at BMX as a great way to test their products.
You can learn all about Curie on the Intel website.
