Vans BMX Pro Cup Huntington Beach – High Air Contest

August 7, 2017

As you probably heard by now if you have been following the Vans BMX Pro Cup, the high air contest winner was Larry Edgar who pretty much maxed out the height bar and shut things down for the win. That doesn’t mean it was an easy win for Larry because Chris James and Pat Casey both wanted to push things as far as they could, too! Below is a highlight video showing you how things went down… or up… Yeah, how things went up!

“So if you’re familiar with the high air event at any of these Vans events, you basically know that it’s a battle between Tom Dugan and Larry Edgar. Well, Tom broke his hand in qualifying. So it was basically Larry’s to lose in a sense, but even with Chris James and Pat Casey gunning for him, Larry put on one hell of a show. No measuring tape necessary for this one…he’s the reigning champ.” – Ride BMX

Bullshittin’ At The 2017 Vans BMX Pro Cup

August 5, 2017

Ride BMX coming through with a fresh video giving you a look at the funny side of BMX contests like the Vans BMX Pro Cup in Huntington Beach. This has some riding and a lot of trash talking and random clips that were caught during practice. Take a look.

“Soooo, even though this video ended up being way longer than expected, I’d consider this a light version of Bullshittin’. More half bullshittin’ and half practice edit, since I really only filmed this over a two hour practice session yesterday. It’s been a busy week and I just didn’t have time to get to any other sessions, sorry. Nonetheless, there’s definitely some gems in this. Qualifying went down this morning.

Catch the finals live on vansbmxprocup.com on Sunday at noon PST.” – Ride BMX

This is a real good watch from start to finish.

“Just a casual day at the park with the Kink BMX squad, but when that literally includes almost the entire squad, things get HEAVY real quick. This was nothing but good times to film and the squad absolutely killed it as expected.. Enjoy, and subscribe.

Animal Bikes – Back To The Brooklyn Banks

July 28, 2017

When you think of the Brooklyn Banks, it’s hard not to think about Animal Bikes. Over the years, the Animal team riders have left plenty of marks on the place over the years. As many of you know, the Brooklyn Banks were shut down for a few years due to construction in the area. The place is some what opened back up and the sessions have started firing back off there again. Here’s a fresh one courtesy of Ride BMX featuring some of the current Animal Bikes team getting down at the place. Plenty of dialed riding in this video! Check it!

“Those iconic red bricks and pillar wallrides of the Brooklyn Banks are legendary. The banks nestled underneath the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge are one of the most famous spots of all time and known the world over. Throughout the 80s and 90s the Banks were the staple NYC spot, and in 2004, the small side (upper banks) were shutdown by renovation. But the bigger, lower side of the Banks held strong until 2010, when the city temporarily took them over and closed them for use as a “staging area” for work on the bridge. They were supposed to be left untouched and reopened in 2014, but to this day, they are still closed (but thankfully, unchanged). However, with all the staging equipment cleared out and nothing but a fence—and the cops next door—standing between the best spot ever and a city full of riders, it was only a matter of time before someone was going to jump that fence and get their session on. Footage of rebel runs at the Banks has been showing up on social media a fair bit recently, so while I was back East recently with the Animal squad, I knew there was no better way to spend our Sunday than with a session at the Banks. Just to make it clear, the Banks are still not open, but once we were in there doing our thing it instantly felt like they were never even closed.
