Sebastian Keep – Jumping Off Bridges On A BMX: The Story Behind “Walls”

January 16, 2017

Sebastian Keep found some very crazy walls to ride for this project…

Here’s what we have been waiting for, for a LOOOOONG time now! The footage of Sebastian Keep doing that insane Gap to Wallride off a bridge for Red Bull has finally made its way online! The Behind the Scenes video just dropped on Tall Order‘s Youtube channel giving you a look at everything that went into making this very, very, very insane idea happen from the gap off the bridge to a bunch of other crazy setups he cooked up! Then Red Bull dropped their “Walls” video that is a short but sweet video packed with banger after banger from all the insane wallrides Bas did. This is absolute MADNESS and a must see!

“ The idea started with lets take 2 small ramps to the city centres to jump off multi storey car parks and bridges land on buildings and wall ride down them. We knew that what we were doing wasn’t exactly legal so we decided to wear high vis jackets and hard hats and try our best to disguise ourselves as road workers so that people would leave us alone and It worked!
The spots we found on Google earth were bigger than we anticipated
and so we tried to build practice set ups to help get used to the gaps.

At the spot in Croydon nobody knew if it was possible to ride down 20 feet of vertical wall and after speaking to various pro riders who didn’t have an answer for us we decided to try it…

This video tells the story of how we rolled into city centres in the early hours disguised as builders with vans holding huge ramps set them up and filmed our attempts at some of the biggest wall rides we have seen.

Please Subscribe and thanks for watching.” Sebastian Keep

“Redefining the concept of street riding, Sebastian ‘Bas’ Keep’s latest project, Walls, takes BMX into uncharted territories.
It’s almost like a new discipline of riding, no one’s really done it before
Sebastian ‘Bas’ Keep
The British BMX legend uses ramps and his creativity to tackle some of the UK’s most inaccessible wallrides, including the project’s death-defying final Croydon spot – an insane 6.5m (22ft) gap to 9.7m (32ft) wallride that made the final ever cover of RideUK back in 2015.
Nearly two years later and the wait is over. Watch the video above to see Bas push the boundaries of what can be achieved in the street environment.

There has been a lot of talk about voting between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich lately, but here’s something you won’t have any trouble voting for. Red Bull have opened up Voting for the 2016 Illume photo contest and there are two photos by George Marshall and Eisa Bakos that have made it into the finals. Both photos are of Bas Keep‘s insane bridge gap to wall ride drop, just from different angles. Eisa covered the top sequence and below you can check out George Marshall’s photo from the bottom. You can vote for both photos on the Red Bull website now.

Vote for Eisa RIGHT HERE.

Vote for George RIGHT HERE.

Note: For some reason the Red Bull website isn’t pulling up the right photos even though the links are right (We checked). If you try to get one or the other photo, scroll through the photos and find the one you’re looking for. Also note that you only get ONE VOTE, so you have to pick. Not sure why Red Bull’s website is goofing up. Either way, both photos are amazing. Check it!

Tall Order – Moving the BMX Industry

October 5, 2016

After a bit of a hiatus with the videos, Sebastian Keep is back on it giving us the behind the scenes look of Tall Order. This one is interesting because the Seventies Distribution guys are moving into a new warehouse and this gives us a look at their old warehouse, along with a look at their new warehouse that’s coming together! Big things happening for those guys, so if you ever wanted to see where Federal Bikes and some of the other brands they carry are based in the UK, this is for you!

“When I started the company I said id do a video diary as I wanted to document the whole process of starting and running a BMX company but I kind of got side tracked. So from now on I’m going to be doing these Vlogs often. It’ll be pretty sick to look back on these in years to come when the company is killing it haha

Thanks for watching!” – Sebastian Keep

Tall Order – Battle of Hastings Day 1

September 9, 2016

The Tall Order webisodes continue! This time around Bas Keep is giving us a look at what’s going on at the Source BMX “Battle of Hastings” contest. This starts out with Jack Clark dragging ass to get to the contest, followed by a little behind the scenes look at what these guys got into during the first day of filming.

“This weekend in my Home town Hastings at the Source skatepark there is a huge BMX contest called ‘The battle of Hastings’
Its a team contest and I was lucky enough to be given the chance to pick a team! My team is Myself, Jack Clark, Dylan Lewis and Joe Jarvis. Today was the first contest. It was held in the plaza room at the skatepark and so I had to pick 2 from my team that could ride street set ups, Joe Jarvis and Jack clark stepped up and rode amazing! Their riding was filmed by Rich forne and all of the edits are going to be shown to everyone at the contest on the Saturday night. We very nearly didn’t make it to the contests on time as Jack was still in his pants 30 mins before this big contest started!
After that we rode bowl practice and our whole team is set to ride in the bowl contest tomorrow…
