For those of you who have been patiently waiting for the United “Still United” DVD to drop, you’re going to be vey excited to know this one is very near completion! They dropped the trailer for the BMX video tonight and damn does it look incredible. You can expect some serious heat from Nathan Williams, Corey Martinez, Christian Rigal, Alex Valentino, Geoff Slattery, Fernando Laczko, Jeff Kocsis and the rest of the crew since they have been going all in for this one for quite a while now. Hit play and get stoked!

Due for a new set of BMX Bars? Have you given Nathan Williams‘ signature Mothership XXL bar from United Bike Co. a look yet? These handlebars are made from 100% seamless 4130 chromoly that is post-weld heat-treated with dual radius bends for extra strength. These bars measure in with a 9.1″ rise, 29″ width, 11-degrees of backsweep, 1-degree of upsweep, a crossbar height of 6.89″ and a crossbar width of 11.41″.

Sneak Peek: United Bike Co. – Mike Escamilla Frame with Bash Guard

The other day we caught a quick glimpse of this frame and for one reason or another thought it was just a random one off frame somebody had S&M or somebody else make. Then today we noticed a blog Brian Tunney wrote about the frame and we realized this is actually a prototype signature frame that United Bike Co. is working on with Mike Escamilla that will be available sooner than later. We’ve seen the bash guard make appearances multiple times over BMX’s short history, between frames that came with them and some after market ones like the guard Fly Bikes and Ruben Alcantara worked on, to that BMX Grind Bottom Bracket Guard we haven’t heard anything about or seen anyone riding. A lot of older guys talk about how BMX trends tend to go in circles… Things that were popular fade out, then years later come back stronger than before. Maybe this will be the revival of the integrated bash guard? We’ll just have to wait and see how things go when this frame comes out. Expect more details once it’s closer to release! It sounds like there is a nylon bash plate that is attached to the tubing that goes around the bottom bracket, so you’ll be sliding smooth.

Quicky: Christian Rigal

It’s pretty rad seeing how riders are able to balance out multiple roles in BMX these days. Christian Rigal is a perfect example of that who is one hell of an amazing rider, but he’s equally as dialed on the other side of the lens as well. There’s no doubt that you’re a fan of his riding, his film work or both. With that being said, between riding and filming, Christian is constantly on the move working on projects from his section for the new United DVD “Still United” section to getting his new RED Scarlet Dragon camera dialed in. We haven’t caught up with him in a little while, so we figured now would be a perfect time to catch up with him and see what’s new! There’s some Markit news that we’re especially excited about… Check it!

Product: United Bike Co. – Mothership V3 in Dark Forest Green

We have seen plenty of versions of Nathan Williams’ signature Mothership frame from United Bike Co. over the years. It looks like the third version of the frame has just received a new paint job that goes by the name of translucent Dark Forest Green, and damn does it look good.

The Mothership V3 frame is made from 100% Seamless Japanese 4130 chromoly straight gauge and butted tubing with a 75.25-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 8.8″ standover height and a 13.3″ (slammed / 13.6″ centered) chain stay length. You can find a heat-treated integrated head tube and MID bottom bracket, gusset on the down tube with a de-bossed United logo, an ovalized down tube to help resist denting, a wider junction at the bottom bracket for improved strength, an investment cast rounded seat stay bridge, a wide rear triangle to fit 2.40″ tires, offset thickness ovalized chain stays to help resist denting, an investment cast seat post clamp, removable brake mounts and heat-treated 14mm drop outs that are flattened to make room for hub guards.

The Mothership V3 is available in top tube lengths of 20.25″, 20.5″, 20.8″ and 21″ with a weight of 5.1 lbs. (21″) and colors of translucent Dark Forest Green, gloss black, gloss aqua, real tree camo, gloss clear and purple brush though BMX shops and mail-orders that carry United Bike Co. worldwide.
