ESPN BMX dropped a Bike Check with Bruno Hoffmann giving you a look at his Federal Bikes setup. We have a feeling this might have been shot a few months back and is just seeing the light of day now since Bruno had a bike check last month where he was running his new Predator tires that aren’t on this one. Either way, we still love checking out bikes so we figured it would be worth sharing. You can check out the bike check here — Bruno Hoffmann Federal Bruno Setup

“Real BMX” In World of X-Games Real Series

January 7, 2016

It looks like BMX will be getting a little shine time in the X-Games’ Real Series in 2016! They have added “Real BMX” to the line up, which will be aired on a one-hour special of “The World of X-Games” on ABC later this year in September! Above is a video with some information and below is more details! Any air time on national / international television is always a good thing, so we’re stoked to see what comes from this.

“After a successful 2015 campaign, X Games will host five new Real Series competitions in 2016 as part of the expanded content offerings provided by World of X Games on ABC. HOT POCKETS® brand sandwiches, has signed as the presenting sponsor for the series. For the first time, the 2016 Real Series event lineup will include Real BMX. Additionally, the Real Ski competition will shift focus this year from backcountry riding to skiing in urban environments.

Each Real Series competition will culminate in a one-hour World of X Games show that will premiere on ABC and feature behind-the-scenes athlete interviews and selection of the medalists. Like past Real Series competitions, each athlete will have the opportunity to team with an editor on the production of a video part that will present each rider in their own unique style. Each Real Series event’s videos will premiere on XGames.com where fans can watch and vote for their favorite.

The Real Series Presented by HOT POCKETS® brand sandwiches schedule for 2016 is detailed below:

• Real Ski – February 20, 2016
• Real Snow – March 12, 2016
• Real Street – May 2016
• Real Moto – August 2016
• Real BMX – September 2016

The 2016 series will begin with Real Ski, airing February 20 on ABC. Each Real Ski video part will debut on XGames.com/RealSki to be judged by a panel of industry experts. A first place cash prize will be awarded to the winner, as well as gold, silver and bronze medals for the top three athletes and their filmers. Fans will also have a chance to view and vote on their favorite video in a tournament-style bracket with the Fan Favorite winning an additional cash prize.

The six Real Ski athletes invited to compete are: Ahmet Dadali, Cam Riley, JF Houle, Tom Wallisch, Will Wesson and Clayton Vila.

The Real Snow competition will follow, with never-before-seen edits from Anto Chamberland, Zak Hale, Frank Bourgeois, Dylan Thompson, Cole Navin and Jake Welch.

“Being involved in X Games has always been my childhood dream, and it is incredible that I can now fulfill that dream without even setting foot in a traditional halfpipe or slopestyle course,” said Real Ski athlete Clayton Vila. “Filming video parts has always been such a driving force in the progression of skiing, but often the people who solely make video parts get overlooked. This event brings a whole new level of legitimacy to our sport, and is an amazing opportunity to show the world how far street skiing has progressed. I am beyond excited to showcase my Real Ski part, and to see what the other amazing athletes have put together.”” – X-Games

Perspective on the Future of BMX Contests and Nitro World Games

December 9, 2015

nitro-circus-world-games-course-rendering

Generally, we try and stay away from heavily opinionated posts on the site, since we feel our opinion is just one voice of many, many BMX riders around the world and everyone has a different perspective on this sport of ours. But, today we are seeing a lot of discussion about the future of BMX contests after seeing the plan for the Nitro World Games, which is ultimately looking for a new way to expose BMX, moto-x, skateboarding and a few other action sports to the masses in hopes of pumping the industries full of energy and revived life that many feel is struggling to get the attention of the masses anymore. So, we’re going to toss out our perspective and then we’re hoping to get a lot of discussion going in the comments whether it be here, Facebook or really anywhere we can get riders to discuss their ideas or dreams of where to take this thing we call BMX next.

X-Games 2015 – Best of Big Air Doubles

June 7, 2015

When we first heard about “Big Air Doubles” a while back, we instantly imagined two people dropping in on the Mega Ramp at the same time, trying to pull out some wild tricks without crashing into each other and dying. It turns out our idea of just what this new addition to the X-Games contest line up was completely wrong. In fact, they paired up one BMX rider with one Skateboarder and they each go separately, then their score is calculated. Morgan Wade and Bob Burnquist teamed up and ended up taking home the gold. Take a look at a few of the highlights from the contest.

X-Games 2015 – BMX Dirt Finals Highlights

June 7, 2015

Did you see X-Games 2015 Dirt yesterday on TV? Well, if you missed it… Here’s a real solid (a little shakey at times) recap with highlights from Kyle Baldock, Chris Doyle, Daniel Sandoval, Mike “Hucker” Clark, TJ Ellis, Kevin Peraza, Ryan Nyquist and more!

“Kyle Baldock came in hot on his final run and swept the gold medal away from Hucker. Given that we’re not allowed to film finals I missed Kyle’s winning run, (you can blame the security guard who makes an appearance in the last clip). But hey, all is well in the world when Doyle gets a medal.” – Ride BMX
