Scotty Cranmer – Rest In Peace, Jesco Jones

March 1, 2019

It was announced the other day that Trey Jones‘ dog, Jesco Jones, had passed away. Jesco has grown to become one of the best known and loved dogs in BMX, so it hit hard for a ton of Jesco fans all around the world. Here’s a video Scotty Cranmer put together where Trey talks a little bit about what happened to Jesco and some of his thoughts about it. After that, Trey talks about what’s in store for this years Florideah Swampest. Hit play and take it all in!

“Trey Jones lost his best friend, his Bulldog, Jesco Jones. Jesco was an amazing Dog that was as unique as could be. He was extremely smart and carried himself as if he was more of a human being then an English Bulldog. He will be missed by so many but he will never be forgotten. But today also marks the first day that Trey Jones begins the build of the BMX event, Swampfest 2019. We got a tour of the event grounds and Big Boy rode his dirt bike around the track!” – Scotty Cranmer

Montana Ricky’s Rider Spotlight: Pasha Nikonov

March 1, 2019

It’s that time of the month for Montana Ricky to do his Rider Spotlight! This time around Ricky has found a hell of a rider that will undoubtably get a bunch of people stoked. We’re not too familiar with Pasha Nikonov, but his riding definitely reminds us of Ratboy, which kicks a TON OF ASS. If you want to check out a rider that’s doing things different, this is the one for you!

“This month’s BMX rider spotlight from Montana Ricky is on the self proclaimed Rocket Manual King from Russia, Pasha Nikonov or Павел Никонов.

For those of you who are new to the channel, every Friday I make a BMX News video and once a month Montana Ricky takes over and films a rider spotlight video like this one. I edit it together and that becomes the news video for the week.” – Brant Moore

Dylan McCauley OFF Mutiny Bikes

March 1, 2019

View this post on Instagram

❕I have been on a Mutiny since 2009 sadly as of today I have decided to part ways with @mutinybikes ... I can’t thank Gaz over at Mutiny enough for everything that they have done for me. I sincerely wish them and the whole team the best! Not sure what the future holds but I do know that I’m in this for the long haul... ?? #bmx #ourbmx #mutinybikes #maderabmx #Bikes❕

Here’s a bit of news we definitely did not see coming. Dylan McCauley has announced that he has made the decision to part ways with Mutiny Bikes after 10 years with the team. Dylan didn’t specify why he made the decision, and it sounds like he doesn’t have a new sponsor lined up yet.

If we had to take a guess, based off Dylan’s ties to the Milwaukee crew and the Madera team, we could see him hopping on Wethepeople with Grant Castelluzzo and Dan Kruk. That’s just a complete guess and nothing for sure, but just the first brand that came to mind when we saw the news. We’ll keep you posted if and when we hear more about Dylan’s next moves… Until then, enjoy Dylan’s Mutiny “No Quarter” part from last year below!

Primo – Superbite Cranks

March 1, 2019

Are you thinking about picking up a new set of BMX Cranks? Here’s a look at the new Connor Keating signature Superbite Cranks from Primo! The Superbite cranks are made from heat-treated 4130 chromoly tubing with a rounded top and flat sides for crank arm grinds and wrapped pedal and spindle bosses for increased strength. The cranks utilize a hollow 22mm, 48-spline spindle with 8mm hex head bolts to keep it all tight. There is a 22mm Primo Mid bottom bracket included with these as well. These cranks are beefy and built to take a beating out in the streets!

DIsco GIz

March 1, 2019

Here’s quick one Kuba Spurny sent through from a session he caught with Krystof Mach at their local skatepark. This one has a pretty laid back vibe, but there’s plenty of brake usage which is always a perk, and a few good laughs (22 seconds in or example) to keep you guessing what’s coming next. Where do you think that kid dancing is now? My guess is rehab.

DIY BMX Pegs

March 1, 2019

Mike Fede hit us with a link to a video from a little DIY idea he had saw a rider do, and figured he would test out. If you have ever wanted to try plastic pegs, but you don’t want to spend the money… Here’s a cheap option that apparently works… Sort of. All you have to do is get some PVC pipe that fits over your peg snuggly, and you’re good to go. Take a look!

I feel like this should have been in Dustin Lee‘s cheap man’s Top 10 BMX Life Hacks video.

“In today’s video we keep the plastic theme going from the last video with plastic tires, and now to PVC plastic peg sleeves. We went into it a little blind with the sizing of the PVC but we make it work.” – Mike Fede

“Today we decide to take one of johns ideas for the will it ride series and give it a try. This is pex pipe for tires. Pex pipe is a form of PVC that is flexible. This was a lot of fun to do and we plan on bringing it back in the near future with some added ideas.“
