Woodward East – VIP: Tree Bicycle Co.

March 2, 2017

Last summer some of the Tree Bicycle Co. team spent a week out at Woodward East. Here’s a video giving you a look at what they got into on all of the different ramps from bowls to the vert ramp and mega ramp. Plenty of dialed riding to take in, in this one!

“The Tree Bicycle Company crew has been making a yearly trip to Woodward Camp for as long as we can remember. The riders may have changed but the amazing times and great riding remain the same. Click play and enjoy some clips from Nathan Wallace, Habo Gutierrez and Dylan Gold from a week in central Pennsylvania.

X Games “Real BMX” 2017 Riders and Filmers Announced

March 2, 2017

It’s that time of the year again! X Games have just announced the 6 riders that will be filming a video part for the “Real BMX” contest! Like last year, each rider will be working with one filmer to create their best video part possible. After that there will be a fan vote, and then judges that will pick the winners.

The “Real BMX” riders for 2017 will be.

1. Alex Donnachie

2. Chad Kerley

3. Demarcus Paul

4. Nathan Williams

5. Colt Fake

6. Dave Krone

We were surprised to see Colt Fake’s name pop up again for this since he had a Real BMX section last year. We are assuming he got picked to do another video because he won the Fan Vote. Regardless, we’re stoked to see what he cooks up again.

Each rider has officially announced who they will be filming with as well…

Currently out in Portugal ?? filming for an @xgames #realbmx part with @davesowerby So honoured to be a part of this event ????? @bakosphoto

As soon as we saw Alex Donnachie will be filming a part, we knew there was no way he would be going with anyone beside BSD‘s filmer, Dave Sowerby. Sure enough, that was his pick and we’re bound to see something amazing out of those two.

Hyped on the invite from @xgames to work on a #RealBMX part with @christianrigal. It's lit!

A post shared by CK (@chadkerley) on Feb 28, 2017 at 10:06am PST

We knew as soon as we saw Chad Kerley on the list that he will be working with Christian Rigal for his section. That’s one hell of a duo that always yields amazing results.

Beyond thankful and unbelievably stoked that @mikemastroni and I will be part of the @xgames #realbmx contest this year! The videos will air on ABC this June!

A post shared by DeMarcus Paul (@demarcuspaul) on Feb 28, 2017 at 10:08am PST

We’re weren’t shocked to see that Demarcus Paul will be working with Volume Bikes filmer Mike Mastroni for his section. They’ve been filming together for a few years now and it makes for a super good team.

So stoked and grateful to get invited to film a part for @xgames #RealBmx with @peteradam this year! It's going to be a fun next couple weeks!

A post shared by Nathan Williams (@united_nathan) on Feb 28, 2017 at 10:50am PST

We weren’t quite sure if Nathan Williams would go with his go to guy, Will Stroud, for his section, but it looks like he’s going to use United‘s go to filmer, Peter Adam for his video. That’s another super dialed pick for a filmer. Peter has been producing some phenomenal videos for a while now, so they should end up with a banger of a video.

Hey everyone! Super excited to announce that @darryltocco and I will be at it again for @xgames #realbmx. We are mid way through filming and can't wait to finish! coming out in June! Thank you again @stew1201 for this amazing opportunity

A post shared by Colt Fake (@coltfake) on Feb 28, 2017 at 10:00am PST

Colt Fake has announced on Instagram that he will be working with Darryl Tocco again. That’s one hell of a combination that we know will produce good results.

Super stoked ?on the invite to 2017 @xgames #Realbmx video project with @yo_navaz

Dave Krone will be working with Ryan Navazio for the contest. You already know with Ryan handling the film work things will be looking top notch.

So that is a look at the X Games Real BMX Riders and Filmers for 2017! Who do you think will be taking the win this year? Let us know in the comments below what your vote is now!

BMX The Game – Virtual Reality City Builder Tool

March 2, 2017

Here is a video we had sent through that really caught our attention. For those of you that have been following a number of the BMX Games that are either available or in development, here’s an interesting bit of news you may not have heard yet. It turns out BMX The Game have been working on a new tool that uses Virtual Reality to build out your own city to ride. If you ever played the Dave Mirra and Mat Hoffman games, Skate, or Tony Hawk games, you were able to build out your own skateparks and spots to ride. Take that but step things up to a 2017 level where you can use a virtual reality headset to create an entire spot. Above is a short video giving you a look at what the BMX The Game crew have been working on. It will be interesting to see what comes from this.

“Teasing our internal city builder tool with Oculus Rift

App description:
A virtual reality application which allows the user to build and decorate the city, placing objects and props like cars, street lamps, trees, benches, in a super intuitive way, using it’s hands. It’s a perfect application to build fast while you gets a realistic sense of presence and scale. This app is used daily to enrich the city with content in an easy, intuitive and entertaining way without specific knowledge.

For the players
This app has been designed as an internal city builder tool and also for BMX The Game players who have VR technology. The VR abilities will be also used into game editors such as park editor and terrain editors.
The users will be able to create their own bike parks on a delimited terrain, with a very extensive library of objects, including ramps, boxes, railings and many other objects.

How to use:
The user can go anywhere – using a typical teleporting system – in the city and place the props just pointing with their hands. Once a prop is placed, is possible to handle it. This means moving, rotate or scale it just using the hands, handling it virtually.

The user has a comfortable UI which allows to browse the props library at any time.”

“Blueprint” Crash Section

March 2, 2017

When it comes to riding, there’s always going to be crashes… Some gnarlier than others. When the guys were filming the “Blueprint” video back in 2001, there were A LOT of heavy slams that happened. Here’s the crash section from the video that’s bound to make you squirm at least a little bit! Hit play and take these BMX crashes in! It’s safe to say by now these scars have healed up.

“This is one of the most brutal wreck sections in a bmx video. Infact i would think in any video. Serious carnage in here!” – Snakebite

Vans BMX Pro Cup – Sydney Practice Highlights

March 1, 2017

The Vans BMX Pro Cup is officially kicking off this weekend down in Sydney, Australia! Some of the top bowl riders in the world have made the trip down south to throw down and it’s bound to be a wild time! Here’s a little look at some of the practice that has gone down so far. We can only imagine how gnarly this contest is going to get!

“Vans BMX Pro Cup Series World Tour invitees are starting to light up this park in Manly Beach, Australia. Jason Watts, Gary Young, Matt Cordova, Tom Dugan and more are practicing their lines to get ready for the big contest coming up this weekend!”

Big Boy – Tailwhip Redemption

March 1, 2017

If you have been following Scotty Cranmer‘s Youtube channel since the start, there’s a good chance you remember the video when Big Boy got wrecked on a tailwhip out of a bank under an overpass. It was one of the first few videos on the channel. Since everyone was either hurt or busy, Scotty decided to challenge Big Boy to go back to that spot and redeem himself! Hit play to see Big Boy finally beat one of his worst crashes of all time.

“Since we started this channel a lot of things have changed especially ALL OF THE CREW MEMBERS BUT ONE OF THE BIGGEST CHANGES HAS BEEN FROM THE BIG BOY. IN THE PAST 14 MONTHS HE HAS LOST ABOUT 100 POUNDS and he gained not only some muscle but a lot of talent riding his BMX bike. We have seen him conquer so many challenges when it comes to doing tricks. He has mastered front flips backflips and now he is working on perfecting his tail whips. So I figured it would be time to go get redemption at the overpass where he had one of his worst crashes since the start of this channel. He accepted the challenge and we packed up the truck to get to work! It took Cory Berglar and my self to encourage big boy just like we did the last time and big boy stepped up to the occasion and brought his a game!”

East Coastin

March 1, 2017

Here’s a rad one we had sent through by Ellliott Eubank from a road trip along the East Coast he took with Lane George hitting up a TON of places like The Wheel Mill, Woodward, the Unit in Greenville and more while meeting up with friends all along the way. This video is a mix of the footage from the trip with riding from everyone they caught a session with! This turned out real rad. Check it out!

“15 days, 2700 miles, 10 skate parks, 9 states & a bunch of maxed out memory cards later, Lane George & I wrapped up this early season’s East Coast road trip. Here are some clips that we got along the way while the camera was rolling.
