Here is a proper flashback Friday for you to check out. Snakebite uploaded the old Chester Blacksmith and Ryan Evans section from the “Blueprint” video that came out back in 2001 online. GoPro – Hero5 Session

October 13, 2016

gopro-hero5-sesison-front

The other week we took a look at the new GoPro Hero5 Black that has been released around the world, so we figured it would be a good idea to take a look at the GoPro Hero5 Session, the smaller, more compact version of the Hero5 Black. It’s pretty amazing what can be packed into such a small piece of technology now days. Who would have known way back in the 80’s when they were rocking those beasts of a camera getting sub-par quality that a small, lightweight cube would be able to accomplish the same thing with much, much better results.

The GoPro Hero5 Session features a small greyish, black casing that is not only stylish, but has been made to be waterproof up to 33′ underwater without the case. The front features an ultra wide angle glass lens, with a single button up top to control the power and shutter to record and stop for video or to snap a photo. On the side you can find a cover that seals the SD card port and USB-C and charging port. The camera comes with a case for mounting so you can strap it to your helmet, chest or wherever you want to put the camera.

This camera is capable of filming in 4K, 2.7K, 1440p and 1080p and 10 megapixel photos at up to 30 frames per second. One big upgrade from the previous camera is that it also features image stabilization like the new Hero5 Black, which is a big upgrade considering one of the downfalls of GoPro cameras is how easily the footage could appear shaky in previous models. The camera can shoot photos in single, burst and time lapse modes.

You can also find the new Voice Control feature that allows you to control the camera by simply telling it to snap a photo or start or stop recording. That goes along with the Wi-Fi controls that you can use from their app on your phone to control the camera as well.

Another new feature that goes along with the GoPro app is there new cloud based storage that is available for those of you who are always uploading footage and want to have access to it at any point. You can also use the GoPro app to edit your footage without the need of a computer. You can literally film some clips, pull it all up on your phone, edit and export it to Youtube, Instagram, Facebook or wherever you want to put it. GoPro have completely simplified the process of using a camera and sharing it.

The GoPro Hero5 Session does not feature and LCD back screen like the Hero5 Black, so there’s not much to talk about here.

As you can see, they have sealed the inside of the camera with the cover to allow the camera to be waterpoof up to 33 feet under water.

When you purchase the camera, you also get the standard frame, curved adhesive mount, flat adhesive mount, mounting buckle and USB-C cable. However, this camera is compatible with 30+ GoPro mounts and accessories.

The GoPro Hero5 Session is available for $299.99 through GoPro dealers worldwide like Amazon now.
