Kink BMX – Solace 2 Bars

Kink have released the latest version of Tony Hamlin‘s signature Solace bars. The Solace 2 bars are made from 13-butted, Tru Therm post-weld heat-treated chromoly tubing with a 9.25″ rise, 28.75″ width, 2-degrees of upsweep and 12-degrees of backsweep. Since the bars are 13-butted, they have extra material in all of the high stress points to help ensure strength, with the full Tru Therm heat-treatment to double up the strength, these should be able to hold up whatever you throw at them.

The Solace 2 bars are available in ED black and chrome through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Kink Bike Co. worldwide now!

The Best of Gabe Brooks

We haven’t seen much from Gabe Brooks since he parted ways with Stranger a while back, which is definitely unfortunate since he’s a serious shredder. Fortunately, a fan put together a compilation of footage that’s packed full of some amazing riding from Gabe for your viewing pleasure. This has a ton of grinds, along with some serious pop, big stretched supermans, plenty of freecoaster action and even a little gymnastics action since that’s Gabe’s background. Take a look!

Sunday Bikes – Purple Street Sweeper Tire

Sunday Bikes have released Jake Seeley‘s signature Street Sweeper tires in this new purple color option. The Street Sweeper is a directional tire that uses a dual rubber compound with a softer center tread pattern and a harder durometer side tread to make them more grind friendly. The Street Sweeper tires are available in 2.40″ only with a max 100 PSI rating and a price tag of $22.99.

Also available in black. It also looks like, based off a few of Jake’s recent Instagram photos, these will be available in a green color in the near future as well.

Red Bull – Drew Bezanson: The Learning Curve – Ep 6

Red Bull just sent through the sixth episode of Drew Bezanson‘s “The Learning Curve” giving us a look at his voyage into giving downhill mountain bike contests a go. This episode gives us a look at his last real chance to qualify for the Joyride contest he’s been working toward for a few months. Can he do it? Hit play and find out.

“This week on The Learning Curve with Drew Bezanson, we find the Canadian at the Colorado Freeride Festival, on the hunt for an elusive wildcard pick that could land him that coveted spot at Red Bull Joyride.
Midway through the season, with only 88 points of the 1,150 needed to qualify for the season finale event in Whistler, Bezanson is on the ropes as he stares down his last chance to fulfil five months’ worth of hard work.

BSD – Special Edition Tan Passenger Frame

The crew over at BSD have just released this special edition tan version of Kriss Kyle‘s signature Passenger frame with special graphics based off Kriss’ personal tattoos.

The Passenger frame is made from 100% 4130 chromoly with a 75-degree head tube angle, 69-degree seat tube angle, 11.5″ bottom bracket height, 9″ standover height and a 13.4″ – 13.825″ chainstay length. The frame features an internally relieved Integrated head tube, gussets on the top and down tubes, a Mid bottom bracket, integrated seat post clamp, a wide rear triangle for 2.40″ tire clearance, 7mm thick Investment Cast dropouts and removable brake mounts.

The Special Edition tan Passenger frame is available in 20.2″, 20.5″, 20.8″, 21.1″ and 21.5″ top tube lengths with a weight of 4.9 lbs through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry BSD worldwide now.

Billy Perry – Broke My Ankle In Spain

August 15, 2016

One of the downsides to riding BMX is that injuries happen and broken bones aren’t uncommon. Billy Perry took a trip over to Barcelona and on the very first day he ended up breaking his ankle! Here’s a look at some of the riding he got in, followed up by the crash and a trip to the hospital. It sounds like surgery and a lot of down time is in Billy’s future, such a bummer. Get well soon!

“My first day in Barcelona didn’t go as planned when I fell on what I thought was an easy and not so risky first clip. I was proven wrong when i broke my ankle in 2 spots and found out i need to get surgery.”
