Scotty Cranmer talks Youtube

December 4, 2015

Unless you haven’t been on the old internets lately, there’s a good chance you have caught one of Scotty Cranmer‘s latest BMX videos that he has released on his personal Youtube channel featuring himself, Matty Cranmer, Big Boy and a bunch of other people he crosses paths with on a regular basis. The videos so far have been real good, and it caught ESPN’s attention. Here’s a video where Scotty talks about the motive behind starting his own Youtube channel, what he has been doing and what he plans on doing with it in the future. It’s interesting to see how much Youtube has become apart of the BMX industry and how it has given a lot of riders an outlet to really expose their riding and personalities. Where things will go in the future? We will just have to wait and see.

Shudder house – Schlie Mix

December 4, 2015

Jay Schlie might not be a household name in BMX, but believe it or not… He’s crushing it behind the scenes. When Jay isn’t busy bouncing around the U.S for QBMX (QBP Distributions’s BMX division) working with BMX shops to improve, he’s most likely out riding his bike. Here’s a short but sweet BMX video featuring Jay cruising some trails, street spots and a full pipe he got a session on in a construction zone before it was most likely buried in the ground. Hit play and enjoy this because it’s not your typical video filled with grinds and freecoaster action.

Harry Main – Skatepark Soccer

December 4, 2015

When we first saw the title of the latest BMX video from the Harry Main webisode series, we expected to see a bunch of kids on bikes using their wheels to kick a soccer ball around to score, which is actually a pretty good time in all honesty. But, this takes bringing BMX and soccer together to a whole new level in more of a “calling the shots” style. So, the concept of this one is you draw a random trick (by “random” we mean a bunch of ridiculous tricks like 1080’s, tailwhip to barspins, tailwhip to whiplash, etc… ) out of a hat. Then you have to kick a ball from halfway across the skatepark into the net. If you miss, you have to do the trick, if you make it, you get to skip it. It’s a pretty interesting concept and it actually looks like a good time… and pretty stressful. Watch as Harry learns the hard way that this game is a little harder than he thought it might be, haha.

Leave it up to BMX riders to find a way to incorporate soccer into their session and make it a little more… risky.

Evolution of the Bicycle

December 3, 2015

No, this doesn’t have anything to do with BMX bikes, but in a way it does… We spotted this video over on the Subrosa website. It’s an animation timeline showing the evolution of the bicycle from 1790 up until 1890, years before Bicycle Motocross was ever even an idea. Either way, it’s still pretty cool to look back and see how this two wheeled contraption came to be. It will be interesting to see what the bicycle looks like in 50 years… We’ll probably be rocking hover bikes by then.

“300 years compressed to a 1 min animation telling the interesting history of the bicycle, all the way from the wooden horse to the modern racer.
The video was made in combination with an application to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, 2013.
Animation : Thallis Vestergaard
Music : Flying Home by The Benny Goodman Sextet

Note: Video updated September 2014
“A bicycle is a two wheeled, human-powered vehicle, with one wheel behind the other.“
The first track of the bicycle goes back to 1493 where Leonardo da Vinci made a sketch of a very advanced bicycle. This is not proven to be true though. So is there many uncertainties on when and who invented the
bicycles improvements along it’s history.
