We keep seeing BMX popping up in the most random of places. Mashable just released a new video to test of the iPhone 6S Plus that was just released the other day to see how well it filmed with the new 4K feature. They put together this interesting video featuring a very busy business man taking a few laps at the pump track and some of the 5050 Skatepark ramps while running late for… something? Either way, the quality is pretty amazing and we cracked up pretty good watching it.

Over the years, we’ve seen a lot of riders that bring something very unique to their riding that really make them stand out. Whether it’s a crazy bag of tricks or style, there’s always that thing that burns a name into your memory. Over the course of the past year or so, Larry Edgar is a name that has been BLASTING his name into our memory with some of the biggest airs and a ton of style. Recently, Larry has been popping up more and more between contests and edits and was recently added to the Fly Bikes team, so we figured there was no way we could wait to get to know this guy better. DIG released their latest “Long Story Short” featuring Ryan Sher who talks about how he got into BMX, bouncing around, riding for Kink and then becoming brand manager of Subrosa and his roles. Take a peek!
“Since around the turn of the millennium Ryan Sher was a regular and welcome fixture of seemingly all BMX media coverage. Wether it was from early Kink Trips, Props Megatours, various magazine covers (everyones remembers his Ride US coverage of the curved wall-ride right?) or endless shots on our own pages of DIG dating back to his first UK visits at the old Bike Shows and Backyard Jams, and leading onto his first Euro trips with his then new company, Subrosa. Then, after 10 years of so it felt like the coverage just stopped almost overnight as Ryan took a major step back from being a Pro rider to concentrate as his new found BMX industry duties.
For episode 2 of our DIG ‘Long Story Short’ Series we caught up with Ryan to learn a little more about his early history within BMX, the story behind ‘that’ wall-ride and why he made the switch from full-time rider to full time brand manager. Enjoy.
