There will be a premiere for Sunday Bikes “Grow Up” video at 5050 Skatepark on Sunday, November 20th (THIS WEEKEND) at 5PM. If you’re around New York and want to get a look at this video (Why wouldn’t you? It sounds like it kicks a ton of ass!), we highly suggest you get to this premiere!
#StandWithScotty Halloween Jam at 5050 Skatepark
We have had a few videos pop up from the 5050 Skatepark Halloween Jam, but the crew at 5050 just sent through their own edit giving you a look at the action that went down throughout the day. This event was also a fundraiser for Scotty Cranmer and it looks like the park was able to donate over $700 to help Scotty out with his medical expenses. Not bad at all! Hit play and check this out!

We are proud to announce together we raised $735 on behalf of everyone that attended our annual Halloween jam tonight. The love and support for Scotty is amazing. There were not only BMX riders, but scooter riders and skateboarders excited to donate and tell their story about how Scotty Cranmer is so inspirational to them.
Thanks to everyone that came out tonight! It’s no surprise after being the only able to land the “Loop of Horrors” Dominick Simoncini walked away with the free week to Woodward East courtesy of Red Bull.
You can continue to donate to Scott’s recovery fund over at:

BMX Death Loop
Billy Perry coming through with a video from the 5050 Skatepark Halloween Jam! Hit play to take the ride to the skatepark, then check out some riding from the massive loop they built for the event plus some riding that went down inside as well. Looks like it was a great turn out and a real good time for pretty much everyone, except the kid that ended up broke off from the loop. Check it!
“We headed to 5050 skatepark in Staten Island, NY for the Scotty Cranmer benefit / Halloween jam. Panza and myself were fully kitted in costumes and there was an insane loop ramp.”

In The Cut – GT Bicycles Jam at 5050 Skatepark
A few weeks ago GT Bicycles did their 2017 Complete Bikes Launch at 5050 Skatepark in New York. DIG‘s Rob Dolecki was there taking it all in with his camera. Here’s a raw cut from the product launch, riding and some of the laughs we had during the jam. There’s even a second angle of the Jason Phelan backflip off the kicker in the pouring rain. Hit play and endjoy!
After you watch the video, check out all the bikes here — GT Bicycles 2017 Complete Bikes

BMX Riding with the Lost Boyz at 5050 Skatepark
We’re not sure what song this is, but it must be popular since we just posted a video from Indonesia that has the exact same song, haha. Either way! 5050 Skatepark hit us with a link to their latest video featuring Charlie Quigley, Dom Simoncini, Alex Avilla, and Lucas Rusinak all putting in some work at the skatepark out in New York. This is filled with grinds, so hit that play button and take it all in!

GT Bicycles – 2017 Complete Bikes Launch
Last weekend, GT Bicycles invited us out to New York City for their 2017 BMX Product launch and jam at 5050 Skatepark in Staten Island. As you know, we’re big nerds when it comes to product and we’ve been real stoked on what GT has been doing since it brought Ben Ward on board to re-ignite their BMX program as a whole, so there was no way we could miss out on the trip out to see what they have been working on. GT brought Brian Kachinsky, Albert Mercado, Dan Conway, Jason Phelan and Jeff With Glasses on out for the session and to get their first look at all of the bikes as well. For 2017, GT have their Team Signature Series (Brian Kachinsky, Jason Phelan and Rob Wise), Team Comp series, Team Series, Performer Series and Slammer bikes that cover a lot of ground from entry level on up to higher end bikes.

Brian Kachinsky Team Signature Series Complete
Each of the bikes feature this GT logo which is based off the sewer hole covers you can find all over the world from Brian’s hometown, Neenah, Wisconsin. You can find the sewer covers in Chicago where Brian calls home now, too.
Each of the bikes feature the GT 4-Piece bars.
Here’s a look at Brian’s signature Elevated topload stem that will be available aftermarket as well. CNC machined with beveled edges, smooth curves, a rounded back, additional machining for weight saving and engraved logos.
The new GT Team grips use the classic mushroom style with a soft rubber compound. You can find these on all the bikes in the range.
The graphics on the bike are based off the transit maps of Chicago. The seat tube features a crosswalk style design as well.
The seat also features the same style design which is a nice personal touch since Brian takes a lot of pride in Chicago where he calls home.
GT have some 2-piece cranks that can be found on the higher end bikes, which look real clean.
Brian’s Signature Series bike comes with a 9-tooth sealed freecoaster hub. The hub is based off the tried and true KHE system.
You can find GT’s classic, but modernized Pool tires on the bikes as well.
Brian’s bikes in order front to back, BK Team, BK Team Comp and BK Team Signature Series.
Believe it or not, but Brian didn’t see the final bikes in person until the event, so you could see how blown away he was when he saw months of bouncing ideas and concept designs back and forth with designer and team manager, Ben Ward, in person finally.
Overall, we were really impressed with the bikes for Brian’s line. There are a lot of details that definitely make it a signature complete beyond just a colorway or something simple we find on other signature bikes out there.

Jason Phelan Backflip In the Pouring Rain and Traffic
Yesterday during the GT Bicycles 2017 complete bikes product launch at 5050 Skatepark, the rain started coming down heavy! There was a kicker out front of the park and Jason Phelan had mentioned he wanted to backflip it… We were thinking he meant once the rain stopped initially, but he really meant BEFORE the rain stopped. So, we quickly grabbed the camera and an umbrella, ran out onto the street and Jason sent it. Despite it pouring rain, the ramp being a little sketchy and cars not stopping for him, he managed to send two of them before the throttle grip kicked in. We’re still not quite sure how he did this, but it’s absolutely amazing.
