Sneak Peek: Relic – Void Bars
Here’s a little news we spotted over on Can You Dig It for your guys. It looks like the Relic crew have decided to add a set of BMX Bars to their line up, and they aren’t 4-piece bars! Seriously, we’ve seen a lot of 4-piece bars lately. The new “Void” bars from Relic will be made right here in the U.S.A by S&M Bikes out of 4130 chromoly with an 8.8″ rise, 29″ width, 12-degrees of backsweep and 2-degrees of upsweep. Not too many details other than that, but they will be available in about 4 weeks. Get stoked!

Insight: Demolition Parts – Dennis Enarson Signature Rig Line
It’s always fun checking out the latest BMX parts that brands are releasing. Over the past two years, the Dennis Enarson signature range of products from Demolition Parts have been making their way to BMX shops and mail-orders around the world and the final piece has just been released, the Rig stem. We figured now that all the parts are available, we would take a look at the entire range of Rig parts. So, if you’re looking for a new stem, bars, cranks or tires… You’ll want to take a look! Let’s get into this!
RIG STEM
Let’s start off with the newest addition to the line. The Rig top load Stem is CNC machined from 6061 alloy with a 53mm reach, 33mm stack height and 32mm rise. The stem is 45mm wide, which gives it more area to clamp on the bars to reduce the risk of slipping. You can also find a rounded back, beveled edges, a debossed Demolition logo in the face plate, extra internal machining for additional weight savings, solid chromoly bolts and a recessed top for a flush fork compression cap.
The Rig top load stem is available in black and polished with a weight of 10.8 oz and a price tag of $62.99. It can be picked up through any BMX shop or mail-order that carry Demolition Parts worldwide now.
RIG BARS
The Rig Bars are made from heat-treated, 13-butted 4130 chromoly tubing with two rise options; 9″ and 9.25″, a width of 29″, 12-degrees of backsweep, 2-degrees of upsweep, 6.5″ (9″) or 6.75″ (9.25″) crossbar height and an 11.28″ (9″) or 11.3″ (9.25″) crossbar width.
The Rig bars are available in Black and chrome with a weight of 33.2 oz. (9″) with a price tag of $67.99 for the black or $73.99 for the chrome bars. These bars can be picked up through any BMX shop or mail-order that carry Demolition Parts worldwide now.
RIG TIRE
The Rig tires were designed to go wherever Dennis wanted to go whether it’s the skatepark, streets or trails. You can find a smoother pattern in the middle of the tread to help reduce rolling resistance and deeper grooves and blocks with knurling on the sides to give you plenty of traction while turning. The tires are made from a dual density rubber compound that is 20% stronger and more durable to help prevent the tires from wearing down or cracking quickly with nylon cord plies, 4 cord wire bead steel cables to ensure the tire will stay on the rim and a 110 PSI rating.
The Rig tire is available in sizes of 2.25″ and 2.40″ with colors of black, black with a tan wall and black with a white wall and a price tag of $25.99 each. These can also be picked up through any BMX shop or mail-order that carry Demolition Parts worldwide now.
RIG CRANKS
If you haven’t caught on by now, the entire range was designed with strength being key. The Rig cranks were especially designed for their strength. The cranks start out with heat-treated 4130 chromoly arms with a built in ridge face for increased strength and stiffness with a spindle boss that sits flush to prevent the dreaded crank arm bite, a 24mm, 48-splined heat-treated chromoly spindle and chromoly spindle bolts with 3/8″ ratchet and 6mm allen key slots to keep your cranks tight.
The Rig cranks are available in flat black or chrome with 170mm and 175mm sizes (Note: 165mm will be coming in the near future), a weight of 31.6 oz. (175mm) and a price tag of $149.99! Eclat – Brock Olive “Olive Bar” Promo Video
Eclat coming through with a short but sweet promo featuring Brock Olive and his signature Olive Bars! Hit play and check out some buttery smooth grinds, along with a look at the bars. Get the full scoop below!
“After adding Australian powerhouse Brock Olive to the Eclat family last year, we shortly got talking about signature products and a bar was something that came up pretty early. Brock wanted a larger bar with traditional angles, but didn’t want it looking too square shaped like many tall bars these days. Brock wanted his bar to have a classic shape so we gave the Olive Bar larger diameter bends to give it a cleaner look than most larger bars. Available in two rises; 9.3″ and 9.6″, the Olive bar is heat treated for unmatched strength and butted multiple times internally to help keep the weight down.
Brock was stoked from the very first sample and since then many of the guys on the team have fallen in love with the look and the feel of his bars.
The Olive Bars are available now worldwide in 9.6″ or 9.3″ in Black, Chrome and Olive, just because it was too easy not to…”

How BMX Handlebars Are Tested
Have you ever wondered how BMX Bars are tested?… Other than guys sending it down huge stair sets, over massive doubles or by blasting quarter pipes… Well, Odyssey released this quick video giving you a look at how they test their bars against a few competitors. Odyssey have put a lot of faith in the quality of their product thanks to their 41Thermal heat-treating process that gives them a lifetime guarantee so these tests must be pretty effective to figure out just how to make a strong handlebar! Take a peek!
Does anyone else geek out over videos like this or is it just us?
“As part of our mission to make the best BMX parts possible, we continue to refine the 41-Thermal® process at all stages of manufacturing. Each step in the process is held under strict scrutiny, and we continue to examine the strength and durability of all our parts.
In our previous Stampy tests, we have blown away the industry standard “EN tests” for forks and cranks, and now it’s time to take a look at handlebars. In our latest test, we have taken bars with very similar height, width, and sweep dimensions, and tried to replicate a lifetime of nose-diving into the ground and pulling up on the bars for a sprint to gain speed in a confined space.
The Stampy handlebar rig drives down on the grip sections right where your hands would be with 1000N (that is about 225 pounds of force) per side, and then pulls back up with another 1000N (225lb). It drives down at a 45 degree angle, just like you would in real life. However, unlike a real rider, the Stampy rig can do this 18,000 times per hour, for as long as it takes to break the handlebar. To get an idea of what that’s like, you can fill a backpack with bricks until you weigh 225 pounds and then attempt to do 30,000 one-arm push-ups, and 30,000 one-arm pull-ups.
As expected, when we tested our bars against our competitor’s bars that had similar geometry, we outperformed them once again. Our worst bar was 33% better than the best of the rest, and our best bar was over 400% more durable than the worst. So remember, when you are buying bars, although they may look very similar, they are not all “the same”.
When you see how hard we push to make the best parts; to make them better and better every chance we get, it is easy to understand why our legendary lifetime warranty against bending and breaking is still around 17 years after we first introduced it. And when you see the contrast between our bars and our competitors, you can also quickly see why most of their warranties have long since been quietly canceled or modified with complicated terms and conditions that usually limit the warranty to manufacturing defects alone.”
