Is it time for some new BMX Pedals? Have you given the Federal Bikes Contact pedals a look? These plastic pedals are made from nylon with a large 95mm width for more surface area for your feet, a concave shape for increased grip, 12 tapered pins on each side of the pedal along with micro-knurling to give it even more grip and an embossed Federal logo. Inside, you can find a heat-treated chromoly spindle with unsealed bearings with a Federal “F” end cap to literally cap it off.

The Contact pedals are available in black only with a weight of 13 oz. (pair) through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Federal Bikes worldwide for about $15.99

Product: Federal Bikes – Bruno 2 Frame

The 2nd version of Bruno Hoffmann‘s signature frame from Federal Bikes has arrived. The Bruno 2 is made from full 4130 chromoly with a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 9″ standover height and a 13.6″ (slammed) chainstay length. You can find gussets on the top and down tubes with an embossed “F” logo on the downtube gusset, a MID bottom bracket, investment cast seat post clamp, investment cast seat and chain stay bridges with Federal logos, a wide rear triangle to fit 2.40″ tires, 6.5mm thick investment cast dropouts with integrated chain tensioners and no brake mounts. The graphics were also designed by Rich Forne.

The Bruno 2 is available in 20.85″, 21″ and 21.25″ top tube lengths with gloss black and metallic green for colors and a weight of 4.96 lbs. The Bruno 2 frame is available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Federal Bikes for around $309.99 now.

The Art of the BMX Sprocket

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these “The Art Of” pieces, so we figured it would be a good time to take a closer look at one part in particular that we’ve been thinking about lately, the BMX Sprocket. The other day we were bouncing around to a few different brands websites to see if there were any new products or anything else new to see, and we ended up staring at the sprockets. When you think about it, the sprocket is one of those things that can really be altered the most as far as aesthetics go. We’ve seen A LOT of sprockets in BMX’s history, so we decided to stick to sprockets that are currently available. Even with cutting it back to that, there’s still a ton of options available. Add in the different combos between the standard bolt drive, Spline drive, and socket drive, colors, versions with guards, etc. There’s a lot to take in. We bounced around and picked out some of our favorites from a number of brands, which you can check out below with a few words about each! Ready?
