Kink BMX – Saturday Selects: Raw Cuts from Canadian Prairies

November 11, 2017

Kink BMX digging into the archives for this weeks Saturday Selects from some time the team spent in Canada around 7 or so years ago if we remember right.

These Saturday Selects videos from Kink BMX have been amazing. They have gone way back in their archives this week to look back on some footage they filmed around 7 or 8 years ago during a trip to Canada. This was all filmed at a few skateparks and street spots they rode. As always, Chris Doyle, Sean Sexton and Darryl Tocco all crushed it. There’s even a brief Jay Miron spotting in this one.

“Take a look behind the scenes as we traversed across the interior of Canada a few years back, with Sexton killing it on Darryls filming board, Doyle bombing handrails and much more!” – Kink BMX

Snakebite – Limit Fabrications Jay Miron Replica Build

April 14, 2017

Limit Fabrications Hoffman Bikes Miron Frame Replica

Over the past few years, we have started seeing some of the older riders out there building up their own Mid School replica bikes that take things back to when things were heavier and a little more unique when it comes to overall design looks. Some only use original parts that fit with the bikes era, some mix in some newer parts just to make it so it not only looks rad, but functions better. The guys at Snakebite caught up with Patrick Banks from Limit Fabrications to talk about his latest build, which is a very unique and original Mid school build that we’re pretty sure nobody else has. We say that, because the bike is built around the Jay Miron signature frame from Hoffman Bikes that never actually went into production. Thanks to Patricks skills as a professional frame builder, and a little help from friends, he was able to build his own version of the frame with a few modern upgrades like geometry, Integrated head tube and more for this bike. There is a great Q&A with Patrick up on the Snakebite website talking about what it took to recreate this frame to look identical to a frame that technically never existed, all the way down to the exact same built-in bottle opener. Jay Miron “Madd Matt” Section (1995)

March 18, 2017

There’s been a few of Jay Miron‘s classic video parts popping up online lately! The other day Jay’s’ “Chasing The View Off The Cliff” section popped up online, so Neil Waddington decided to pull out his old “Madd Matt” section from 1995 for your viewing pleasure. Like all footage from that time, it’s not the best in the world, but damn does the riding make up for it! Jay throws down on a bunch of different ramps like the Secret Ninja Ramp and even a few street spots in this one putting his deep bag of tricks from big airs to technical lip tricks and grinds down rails on both sides. This is a super good watch, so hit play and enjoy!

“Chasing the View Off the Cliff” – Jay Mirron Section (1994)

March 10, 2017

What were you doing in 1994? There’s a very strong possibility a good portion of you reading this either weren’t born yet or were young and hadn’t found BMX yet. I personally would have been 6 in ’94 and had not been introduced to BMX for a few more years, but Jay Miron was out there absolutely CRUSHING everything he touched. Above is the Canadian Beast’s section from the “Chasing the View Off the Cliff” that’s packed with some serious hammers on a bunch of different skateparks and vert ramps. This section even has Jay’s classic backflip to belly flop on a spine (there’s a reason that dude wore a chest protector all the time) that you may or may not have seen floating around before. This kicks a lot of ass, so check it out!

Jay Miron “American Muscle”

July 7, 2016

We’re always pumped when a classic video part from back in the day surfaces online. Neil Waddington did us all a favor and uploaded the Canadian Beast’s section from the “American Muscle” video online or your viewing pleasure. Jay Miron absolutely CRUSHES vert ramps, Woodward, pools and really just anything that was in front of him. This is a big mix of crazy tricks like double backflips and 900’s to technical lip tricks! This is definitely one of the classics that stands out even after all these years. Hit play and take it all in!

Flashback Friday – Jay Miron On MTV Cribs

September 11, 2015

We were clicking around on the Random Page Button and an old interview we did with Jay Miron years ago popped up. In that post was a video from the time he was on MTV’s “Cribs” show back in the day. Since it’s Friday, we figured it was perfectly appropriate to re-up this video for you to check out since we’re sure there’s a bunch of you that haven’t seen it or just forgot completely about it!

Flash Back Friday – Front Brake Magic

November 15, 2013

Over the course of the past few weeks, we’ve seen a couple really mind blowing videos from a few of the guys who are absolute animals when it comes to the front brake game these days. Obviously, in the past years brakes have really become obsolete for a good number of riders, which I mean is fine, but I almost feel like it’s almost becoming some sort of a lost art. There are so many tricks that just aren’t possible without brakes or even front brakes for that matter that kick so much ass. It’s always refreshing to see people doing things different and killing it like it was done back in the day.
Watching all of these new videos with all of this front brake magic got me thinking about not only how bad I want to get some on my bike, but a few of the guys I grew up watching who all ran front brakes. I decided since it’s a “Flashback Friday” that it would be a good time to pull out a few of these new videos and then dig in a little bit for some videos spanning the past decade or so front some of the legends of the front brake game so to speak. Let’s take a peek…

Dillon Lloyd – Layover / Hangover Day

May 29, 2013

There’s a couple reasons why this new edit of Dillon Lloyd is awesome. One, the riding is real good, two the filming and editing is solid and three… JAY MIRON makes a cameo. Where the hell has he been hiding? Retirement life. Either way. Take a look!

“Dillon had a layover day in Vancouver Saturday May 25th, on his way from Montreal to Hong Kong for the Eclat Kings of Kong trip. Dillon actually did a fair amount of drinking the night before, which lead to a layover/hangover Saturday.
What started out as a rainy day ended up being an awesome day, between finding a bunch of dry spots and riding with some good friends/ Canadian Legends, we made the best of Dillon’s Vancouver layover/ hangover.
