Yesterday we got Mat Hoffman‘s section for The Quest For Big Air from X Games (Watch: Mat Hoffman – The Quest For High Air ). Now today we get skateboarder Danny Way’s perspective on the ramp and how much influence Mat had on the project. This is nothing short of absolutely mind blowing. Both of these guys are crazy!

YES! We’re finally getting a look at some footage from Mat Hoffman‘s sessions on the crazy ramp that Danny Way built! We’re not sure exactly how high Mat went on the ramp, but we’re pretty damn sure he hit a new record height! Hit play to get some insight from Mat about the ramp, along with some riding footage showing you just how big he was going. This is soooooo good. Mat continues to blow peoples minds with his riding and push his own boundaries!

Vice Meets BMX Rider Mat Hoffman

Vice and Johnny Knoxville just dropped this rad new video where they give you some insight into Mat Hoffman with highlights from the “Birth of Big Air” documentary, riding footage from his first session back after shattering his arm into pieces when a semi hit him while driving and some stories and good adivce. Mat is such a badass! Enjoy!

Leaked Mat Hoffman Big Air Footage

If you caught our Interview with Mat Hoffman a while back, you would have known that he was working on setting the biggest air record again and that there would be a video coming from it eventually. Today, Hoffman Bikes dropped a little teaser video giving you an idea of just what’s to come… All we can say is HOLY CRAP! We cannot wait to see the full video. “Mat Hoffman is a fearless, innovative, legend in the world of 20 inch bike riding. Mat was the first person I saw do a handrail on a bike. He did the first flip fakie. He created the standard for vert riding and he ruled vert for over a decade. I saw him try a tailwhip back flip on dirt in the early 90s when both flips and tailwhips were considered nearly impossible tricks. In 1992 Mat built a 20 ft quarter pipe and had a friend tow him with a motorcycle so he could set a world record (going over 20 ft out on a 20 ft ramp). When corporations abandoned BMX in the early 90s, Mat stepped in and founded one of the first rider owned bike companies. He also started an underground contest series that was pretty much the only game in town until he worked with ESPN to bring the sport back into the mainstream with the X-Games. BMX is a powerful, creative, badass, expressive, individual lifestyle and Mat Hoffman is BMX.
