Help Anahi Valentina Get Knee Surgery

June 4, 2021

Anahi Valentina GoFundMe

Anyone who has wrecked their knee knows it’s always a rough go. It’s even worse if you can’t afford the surgery. Kink BMX‘s very own Anahi Valentina is currently stuck down in Ecuador with 3 tears in her meniscus that’s keeping her off her bike and unable to travel. She’s trying to raise some funds to cover the surgery and started a GoFundMe page to help get there. You can learn more about her knee situation below!

“My name is Anahi Valentina, I come from the city of Quito Ecuador, South America. A few months ago my right knee went out of place, causing the rupture of the internal meniscus in 3 parts, the solution to this injury is surgery.

The Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS) is saturated in Ecuador, so I have no alternative but to pay the money for the operation and physiotherapy, and for now in the situation that my country is going through I find myself without work or funds to be able to afford on my own.

My biggest dream is to be the best cyclist in the world, but for that I must recover as soon as possible of this injury, so today I ask for your help to be able to resume my life and continue training for my dream, time is of the essence for an athlete and even more the recovery time.

Thank you very much for your support and motivation to keep on fulfilling my dreams…”

Prody Five – Meet The Feeble

June 4, 2021

We honestly had no idea how many Prody videos there are, but Clint Millar keeps the party going with the 5th full length video “Meet The Feeble” that was originally released back in 1996! 25 years later and this 30 minute BMX video packed with park, flatland, dirt and street riding is still an awesome watch! Get on that play button to check this out!

“Released in early 1996 is the 5th installment of the Prody series of videos.

The first video in the series to feature “sound on sound” effects with the riding back ground noises heard with the music. At the time this was a huge jump forward in production.

Although still primarily edited using the camera to VHS player technique. The sound track was then laid over using a professional edit suite. This marked a leap forward in the video editing & production for Prody.

Once again mainly centered around the Brisbane BMX scene of the time. But for the first time it also featured footage taken abroad in the USA with Clint Millar & Michael Canfield’s first trip to the USA in September 1995. Also featured are other locations & riders from around Australia.

Sit back, relax & relive a great time in Australia’s BMX history.

Produced by Clint Millar.” – Prody

Christian Rigal and the Pole Jam Into Space

June 3, 2021

Here’s one we didn’t expect to see. Our BMX released this raw cut behind the scenes giving us a look at what went into that insane pole jam that Christian Rigal did that ended up in Nathan Williams‘ “Why Not?” video. It’s kind of crazy to see how much effort went into getting this clip from the build to a bunch of attempts. In the end, it was definitely worth it because that’s for sure the biggest pole jam we’ve ever seen!

“About four years ago, I went out with Christian Rigal to shoot a photo of the biggest pole jam I’ve ever seen. Christian took a light pole (literally), propped it up with a spiked fence, and locked it together with some cement. I was there to shoot photos, but I also filmed some behind the scenes stuff…at the time, this was to be the start of Christian’s next video part, but as most of you know, it ended up being his guest clip in Nathan William’s “Why Not?” section. I randomly stumbled onto this footage a couple weeks ago and figured it was too good to let it stay unseen.

Adidas Five Ten – “Endless Possibilities” Team Mix

June 3, 2021

Here’s a new mixtape that Adidas Five Ten released that features their bike squad going to work on trails, snow, ramps, street and more. This is mostly big bike stuff, but Brad Simms has a section that starts at the 7 minute mark just after Danny Macaskill‘s section. As expected, Brad put in work out in the streets and cooked up some great clips. There’s a few you might have seen on his Instagram and a few new ones. Take a look!

“Check in with an all star line up in the latest team video from adidas Five Ten starring: Danny MacAskill, Darren Berrecloth, Vero Sandler, Martin Søderstrøm, Thomas Genon, Kenny Belaey, Brad Simms and Hans Rey.

With a little creativity there are Endless Possibilities right on your doorstep.

In the spring of 2020, countries across Europe and North America found themselves in nationwide lockdowns with restrictions imposed on national and international travel and limits on the number of people able to gather indoors and out. We all had to change the way we went about our lives.

‘Endless Possibilities’ put the creative in the hands of 8 global adidas Five Ten athletes who were sent personal handheld video cameras and still cameras to their home. The brief was simple, to document their riding first-hand, showcase what riding means to them and what they can achieve right out of their front door.

Take inspiration from the Endless Possibilities crew, share your creativity and what riding means to you with #EndlessPossibilties and #BrandOfTheBrave. From cruising the streets to your local woods, your backyard to the skatepark, with a little creativity there are endless possibilities right on your doorstep.
