OTH: Shadow Conspiracy / Sparky’s

Over the course of the last few years, The Shadow Conspiracy and Sparky’s Distribution have been becoming more and more popular in BMX. Not only do they have plenty of products and a killer team under the Shadow name, they have brands like Subrosa and Mutiny under the Sparky’s name. They also have a bunch of real good people behind the scenes keeping things going from day to day like Ronnie.

On the Horizon: Seattle Bike Supply

There’s one thing that has always caught my attention, and that’s how large businesses can incorporate BMX into their stores and warehouses. When I used to work for a bike shop, I’d always be looking through the Seattle Bike Supply catalog wondering what kind of an operation they had going. Over the course of the last year, I’ve been introduced to a lot of people who I had no idea really existed – One of them being Gork from SBS. The look of the Verde completes has always been really appealing to me, the team kills it, and the people involved with running the brand are really good people. On the Horizon: Volume/Demolition

Whenever I think of when I first remember seeing something from Volume or Demolition, I think of about 8 years ago or so when a guy was at the local trails on a Dinosaur frame. The guy was really good, and I was at that point where I was convinced riding a certain part or frame would be what made you good. I was only 12 or 13 at the time, but that’s okay.
A lot of things have changed since then. Frames no longer weigh more than me, I’ve accepted riding a certain part will never automatically give me tailwhips, and that if a brand is doing something right, they will continue to exist. With that being said, it was time we did a little catch up with Brian Castillo about the happenings over at Volume and Demolition these days.

Given this site gets readers from all over the world, which is mind blowing to me still today. There are times when a brand that isn’t even available in the United States catches my eye and I get curious.
