NASS Festival 2017 – Course Previews

June 23, 2017

Let’s take a look at what the NASS Festival 2017 BMX Courses will look like…

NASS Festival BMX Course Preview Street

With NASS coming up next month, we get a look at their plans for how things will look for the setup for BMX to ride. Above you can find a drawing of the street course, then below you can find Dirt, Flatland, Park and Vert. Flatland and vert are a little obvious since those two require a flat space and a half pipe, but otherwise the park and street courses are looking rad. Get more details below!

NASS Festival BMX Course Preview Dirt

Dirt

2016’s Dirt Contest was huge but 2017 promises to be even bigger. So NASS have returned to Gorilla and BMX legend Kye Forte to take Dirt to the next level. Expect huge gaps and gravity defying steps and a tough contest as reigning champion Nick Bruce looks to retain his title against some serious competition.

NASS Festival BMX Course Preview Flatland

Flatland

The Radlands is returning to NASS once again with a specially designed super smooth stage to allow the finest flatland operators to perform their art the way it should be done. The Radlands will also play host to the B-Boy Stage.

NASS Festival BMX Course Preview Park

Pro Park

Designed by the country’s leading park designers, FourOneFour, the pro park is the biggest stage in the European action sports calendar and it’s where the world’s best talent will fight it out for glory, bragging rights and an enormous prize purse. Huge obstacles, monstrous transitions and highly intricate street sections will test each rider’s ability in the air, as well as their skills with smooth lines.

NASS Festival BMX Course Preview Vert

Vert

The Jewel in the NASS crown is the awe-inspiring 14ft vert ramp designed to the specifications of vert legend Tony Hawk. One of the biggest ramps in Europe, this will be the stage for the world’s best vert riders on two wheels and four and will make for an incredible, gravity defying contest as Vince Byron and Jesse Thomas both look to retain their status as World Champions.

“With the iBMXFF World Championships returning to NASS for the second year in a row organisers have now revealed the course that will push the boundaries of each rider, testing their mettle as they compete for the title of World Champion from 7 th – 9 th July.

Public Park

The public park is the place for everyone to come along and get involved and shred, pure and simple. With plenty of ramps, rails, transitions and street spots there’s plenty in the pro park for you to practice on… and who knows practice enough and you may find yourself in the pro-park in 2018.

Pump Track

A new addition to NASS 2017 is the Pump Track. Over the course of the weekend festival goers and riders of all disciplines will get the chance to ride this plywood rollercoaster with the fastest set to win some awesome prizes.

Inspired by the individuality and creativity of alternative youth culture, 15,000 music & action sport fans will make their way to the Bath & West Showground for a weekend of action sports, live music and hardcore revelry.

Hip Hop royalty in the shape of Wu Tang Clan’s Method Man and Redman have been announced to headline Friday night on the Main Stage supported by rising grime star Giggs. They join grime legend Kano, Aussie Drum and Bass outfit Pendulum and DJ duo Sigma on the Main Stage line-up.“

Profile Racing Warranty Policy Explained

June 23, 2017

If there’s one thing I wish more people understood in BMX is what a warranty actually covers…. Get the details on the Profile Racing Warranty Policy!

Profile Racing Warranty Policy

If you have ever worked in the BMX industry, especially in a position where you’re dealing with customers for a brand, there’s a good chance you have dealt with a broken part and something that may or may not qualify for a warranty. Unfortunately, BMX is hard on bikes and things will break and that’s just the nature of things. Even more unfortunately is that a large number of riders believe that they deserve their product to be warrantied when something breaks from wear and tear and doing something that would cause the product to fail. We actually went into great detail on the What Does A Warranty Cover? piece when we released it last year explaining the different levels of warranties, what is covered, what isn’t covered, tips and tricks when it comes to the process.

… Unfortunately that probably hasn’t reached nearly enough people to get everyone on the same page and there’s probably a brand getting chewed out on Instagram or Facebook right now by somebody who broke a part and expects a warranty… They’re probably making threats of ruining the brands reputation or calling up a lawyer. Seriously… It happens a lot more than you might think and it never gets any less ridiculous.

The crew at Profile Racing decided to put together their own guide explaining their different tiers of warranties from their Lifetime Warranty to their 30 Day Manufacturer’s Defects warranty, the crash replacement program and more. You can learn all about the Profile Racing Warranty Policy right here!

After you check that out, we HIGHLY suggest you check out What Does A Warranty Cover?. Seriously.

If you don’t fully understand what is covered in a warranty, we advise you take some time to read into both of these features that we just mentioned above because there’s a good chance you will find information that will help you understand better. It’s also important to note that virtually every brand follow similar policies when it comes to warranties in BMX. I could go on and on about the importance of this, but it will turn into a biter rant from some brutal experiences with incredibly rude and uninformed people, haha. So we’ll just wrap this up right here.

Vans – Bruno Hoffmann Welcome to the Global Team

June 23, 2017

To be entirely honest, we always thought Bruno Hoffmann was already on the Vans BMX Global Pro team, but apparently he was only on the Europe team. That all changes now because he’s been given the bump up! We’re perfectly okay with the news because that means we’ve been treated to this PHENOMENAL welcome video where Bruno goes to work on street spots from Israel to Germany and the United States. Add Rich Forne into the mix and you have a BMX video you CANNOT pass up! Hit that play and give it a share for everyone else to enjoy it! This is banger after banger (the ender is a literally a banger, too).

“Bruno Hoffmann takes on Tel Aviv, Berlin and Nashville with full commitment and prevails. Bruno has been chipping away at the forefront of the tech game for so long but that’s not all he has. Full power 5’s and a huge 3 over a rail straight into a car and you have yourself a committed man.Laced to an epic soundtrack fit for the superstar that Bruno has become cut with intense filmmaking by Rich Forne, this is a part Bruno should be really proud of.” – VANS

Corey Walsh – Full Speed In Portugal

June 23, 2017

Oh hell yeah! If you’re looking for a good way to get your morning started, this is the BMX video for you! The guys at Ride UK took a trip with Corey Walsh where he spent some time exploring the street spots, skateparks and DIY spots. As expected, Corey brings a ton of speed and style to everything he touches making for one hell of a good watch! If you aren’t hitting play on this video, you’re completely missing out! This is damn good!

“Straight after placing 2nd at the Vans BMX Pro Cup in Malaga, Corey Walsh headed to Portugal. He cruised around with Robin Pearson (filmer), Jason Watts and a good crew, riding concrete, camping wild, roasting transitions and having a badass time.
