Lux BMX – Mike Vockenson “Aeterna” Section

March 25, 2020

Lux BMX coming through with a section from their “Aeterna” DVD we’ve been waiting to see. Mike Vockenson might have been busy behind the filming and editing of the video, but that didn’t slow him down on his bike! Here’s his section from the video that is packed with big rails, pools, heavy drops and gaps, and more! Mike crushed it on both sides of the lens making one hell of a BMX video, so get on that play button and take it all in.

“The man, the myth the legend Mike Vockenson has quietly been making waves in the Australian BMX scene for years, and that’s just how he likes it. Humble and calculated, Mike has made a long-lasting impression on many BMX riders and industry persons alike. Unlike most, Mikes approach to riding can go from zero to full blast very quickly. Mike sees spots differently and this is evident in his recent masterpiece Aeterna.” – Lux BMX

Ciao Crew – HELLINIKON

March 24, 2020

It’s pretty wild that the Olympics for 2020 have been postponed until 2021. What’s also wild is seeing what old Olympic venues look like after things finish up and the event moves on to the next city. The Ciao Crew decided to take advantage of the abandoned Olympic stadium in Athens, Greece that was built back in 2004 and see what they could find for spots to ride. It’s safe to say the place is loaded with gems to ride and these guys had no issue stacking clips. Hit play and take a look at what the got into!

“With the 2020 Olympic Games officially being postponed to 2021 we present to you HELLINIKON. While BMX Park will be an official part of the next Games being held in Tokyo, Japan Bruno Hoffmann, Kilian Roth and Mo Nussbaumer teamed up with filmer Rich Forne and photographer Merlin Czarnulla to put a different spin on things and decided to reinterpret an existing leftover of the Olympic circus – the olympic canoe track of 2004.
After lying deserted for over 15 years in the birthplace of the Olympic Games the decaying canoe track now offers tons of possibilities to ride and film a BMX video.

Getting the clips they desired turned out to be quite a challenge due to heavy security surveillance of the Olympic venue and resulted in a week long game of cat and mouse with the local security guards patrolling the premisses 24/7.
The riders & media crew made the best out of this tense situation by figuring out a way to still be productive while constantly being on the edge hiding from security. At times it felt more like a real-life hide and seek rather than a regular session with the homies but that made things quite interesting to say the least.

A huge shout out to Red Bull Germany for their support and making this project a reality.

There is an in-depth article about HELLINIKON over on the RedBull website!“- Ciao Crew

Julian puts all four pegs and his freecoaster to heavy use with precision lines that are too good to miss, and that ender is definitely something you need to see. We’re really digging the filming on this as well. It’s a nice change to see a video that isn’t all up in a riders face with crazy angles.
