January 8, 2020

Here’s a wild one for you! Bone Deth have released Kert Petersel‘s section from the “Too Fast For Food” DVD part online for your viewing pleasure! As always, Kert delivers some fast paced action with roof drops, big gaps, wallrides and more. Needless to say, this is too good to miss!

“The Estonian beast! We’ve always enjoyed watching Kert Petersel do his thing and this section from Bone Deth’s ‘Too Fast For Food’ could be his best yet. Full speed, rooftop blazing, gap to wall madness. And that ender… wow.” – DIG

Harry Main Off Mafia Bikes

January 8, 2020

View this post on Instagram

*NO LONGER RIDING FOR MAFIA BIKES* My time at Mafia bikes it’s done! I learnt a lot about myself over the time we worked together. We are heading in different directions & I could not be more excited to get back to Riding! Thanks everyone who supports me & is there to guide me! Through the ups & downs of the Mafia partnership I do feel the experience has been eye opening in a positive way. Thanks to everyone at Mafia bikes! For now I’m riding this frame which is sentimental to me as my mum bought me it when I was 16! Looking forward to potentially working with new brands again in the future that share the same direction and love for bikes as me!

A post shared by HARRY MAIN (@harrymain) on Jan 7, 2020 at 11:11am PST

The 2020 sponsor changes continue. Here’s one we’re sure a bunch of people will be stoked to see. Harry Main is no longer riding for Mafia Bikes. In his Instagram post, he didn’t really specify the reason for leaving beyond going in different directions, but that will happen. It looks like as of right now he doesn’t have anything lined up, but maybe we’ll see something in the future since we’re sure somebody wouldn’t mind having him on their team considering he still shreds and has a big following on social media. However, it does look like he’s been spending more time on mountain bikes over BMX bikes as of late, so maybe that’s the new direction he wants to go in. Either way, another bit of sponsor news for the new year!

Who would you like to see him riding for or a brand you think he would fit well with? Let us know in the comments down below!

Goods BMX – Evan Lane 2019 Video

January 7, 2020

Here’s one we stumbled across featuring Evan Lane for Goods BMX! This video doesn’t have much info, but we would assume it was all filmed over the course of 2019 with plenty of dialed riding from skateparks and trails around the Portland area. Evan brings a laid back mix of tricks and plenty of style, making for a real good watch! Take a peek!

Wethepeople – Jacman Hinss 2020 Bike Check

Jacman Hinss BMX Bike Check Wethepeople 2020

It’s a new year, and that means it’s time for a new setup! Well, for some people. The crew at Wethepeople dropped a new Bike Check with Jacman Hinss and his new Pathfinder setup loaded with Wethepeople and Eclat parts that he has been putting in work on down in Australia! You can check out a full parts list and a whole bunch of photos over on the Wethepeople website! It looks like a real dialed unit to us!

Danny MacAskill – Gymnasium

January 7, 2020

We’re always stoked on checking out a new Danny MacAskill video. Despite it not being BMX, there’s a lot of BMX influence in the riding. Red Bull dropped this new video featuring Danny absolutely crushing it in a gymnasium. The tricks he’s doing on the setups are absolutely amazing. There’s also a lot of laughs and easter egg type things in this as well. Check this one out! Although this is awesome, the Going Crazy In A Gymnasium series that Brian Gregor and Rusty Prady did a few years back is still our favorite videos from a gymnasium, haha. Watch Danny MacAskill’s Gymnasium!

“New Year, New Tricks. Scottish Trials Bike legend Danny MacAskill shows us in his new film ‘Gymnasium’ that there are other ways to make your mark in the gym. Not a regular gym-goer by his own admission, YouTube sensation Danny stars in his new film and attempts to show the world that staying in shape doesn’t have to be daunting.

In his latest return to our screens, Danny seeks refuge from the ‘New Year, New Me’ craze by creating his personalised fitness playground in a long forgotten hall at his local sports complex. Even though performing a perfect bar routine while still on two wheels isn’t for everyone, Danny has found that it’s a case of no chain, no gain as he’s able to do what he loves and stay in shape at the same time.” – Red Bull

The BMX In Our Blood Podcast – Ed Pollio

January 7, 2020

It has been a bit since we’ve caught a The BMX In Our Blood Podcast, but it looks like Joe Doherty is back on it after a little break! This time around he sat down with Ed Pollio from 5050 Skatepark to get his story from how the park came to be, what it takes to keep the doors open, the future and more. Ed has a great story and puts in a ton of work, so this is definitely a podcast worth listening to! Hit play and enjoy!

“Angelica and Ed Pollio are pretty amazing. Something about New Yorkers, their determination and passion against the increasingly difficult hoops they need to jump through is nothing short of amazing. The 5050 Skatepark in Staten Island is as unique as each of the five NYC boroughs. Every passion project floors me and grabs my attention. Maybe because I thought I have had a few challenging BMX passion projects in my BMX life but I don’t think they come close to the hurdles Angelica and Ed have persisted through. I often talk about the NY hustle when interviewing New Yorkers, it is real! Anyhow, please give this story a listen and apply it to your strategy if you are embarking on a journey to give back to your community. 5050 can always use donations to keep their dream alive so look them up and do what you can. Help make sure this resource doesn’t go away!
Special thank you to Bryan Close of Brooklyn for being a guest for this podcast. Nothing better than having a New Yorker join in and be part of the podcast. Thank you Angelica and Ed for being amazing people that know what giving back is all about while making a difference in the lives of so many through the park.
You can find 5050 on Instagram at @5050skatepark 5050skatepark.com Their merch store is through eBay by searching for 5050 Skatepark. Also, check out some other amazing projects of Ed’s on Instagram @nydac
Last but not least, thank you to Powers Bike Shop for sponsoring the show. #thebmxinourblood can be reached through me at @gromdad2000 or at www.thebmxinourblood.com where I gladly accept donations to keep the podcast going. Thanks!

The Head Angle Podcast – Eddie Fiola

January 7, 2020

The Head Angle is back after a little hiatus, and they’re back with a banger. This time around Matt Holmes and Tom Boorman sat down with the one and only Eddie Fiola for an interview! This one takes on a lot of history and stories that you won’t want to miss out on! Eddie does not disappoint with this one! Hit play and give it a listen!

“There aren’t many who have stood at the top of a generation of riders, untouchable for their unmatchable style, progressive riding and wins in competition. Names like Hoffman, Mirra, Aitken and Reynolds spring to mind. Yet before them, one name defined freestyle in its infancy, possibly more than anyone will ever do again. We were stoked and more than a little humbled to sit down with one of the greatest.

Eddie Fiola

From his early days in the burgeoning Californian concrete skatepark scene back in the early 80’s, Eddie’s ride into the history books of BMX is more than well documented with endless covers on the likes of Freestylin’, video parts and tours around the world showcasing his ability to blast the hell out of anything and look stylier than anyone doing it. Far from just a rider, his ability to market himself to the world meant he could make a career out of BMX, a well paid one at that and one that saw him step beyond the BMX industry and onto the big screen, a move that has seen him part of more than a few Hollywood productions since the seminal BMX flick ‘RAD’.

Kick back and take in this podcast we’re more than a little proud of with the one and only, the Flying Banana, Eddie Fiola.

Talking to the past, present and future of BMX in Australia.

The Head Angle is an Australian BMX Podcast hosted by Tom Boorman & Matt Holmes.

One Dude, One Day – Louis Zimmer

January 6, 2020

Freedom BMX coming through with a fresh One Dude, One Day edit to check out. This time around they spent the day with Louis Zimmer who cooked up a whole bunch of rad clips rom his local park! If you’re looking for lines filled with grinds and manual combos, this is for you!

“Cult rider Louis Zimmer is a sucker for manual lines. Check him out getting to work at his local.

For the new episode of “One Dude One Day”, cult driver Louis Zimmer cut out an incredible line after the next in Cologne’s North Brigade.

Louis is a master of the manual and besides, you never know with him which page is actually the right one. Quite apart from the fact that it makes even the most difficult combos look completely chilled. Here is his clip yield from a hot afternoon in his local park. JIH!” – Freedom BMX
