Things are getting chilly over in Germany despite it being summer. The Wethepeople crew have been busy getting their new translucent “Ice Blue” colorway dialed in on their full range of BMX frames, bars and forks. We were able to get our hands on some photos of this color on everything that it is now available on worldwide through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Wethepeople! Let’s take a closer look!
Earlier today, United Bike Co. released a video and flipbook giving us a look at their brand new TRU frame that is available now. We were digging it, so we figured it would be a good idea to give you guys a closer look! The TRU frame is made right here in the USA by FBM out of 4130 chromoly with a 74.4-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.5″ bottom bracket height, 9″ stand over height and a 13.36″ – 13.9″ (21″) and 13.7″ – 14.11″ (21.25″ & 21.5″) chain stay lengths.
The TRU frame features a heat-treated head tube, MID bottom bracket and drop outs, a gusset on the down tube, a custom cast Pewter head tube badge (BEAUTIFUL), bullet tipped seat and chain stays, an integrated seat post clamp and the options of removable brake mounts on the seat or chain stays or welded on brake mounts on the chain stays. This frame is designed to fit 30 – 33 tooth sprockets (and smaller) and the rear end will fit 2.30″ tires. The frame is available in 21″, 21.25″ and 21.5″ top tube lengths with a weight of 5.3 lbs. (21.5″) and comes in colors of clear coat raw, translucent black and translucent green.
The TRU frame is VERY limited edition. Only 100 of these are available worldwide, so if you’re digging this… You need to get on ordering one ASAP.

When it comes to BMX frames these days, there are a lot of factors that come down to geometry that can alter the way a BMX bike feels and rides. Want to have more balance on your nose? Get a steeper head tube angle. Want to spin better? Get a higher bottom bracket height. Want to manual better? Get a shorter chain stay length. Need something better for barspins? Get something with a taller standover height. What about tailwhips? Shorter standover heights will make it easier to get over the bike. Now days, a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 8.5″ standover height, 11.5″ bottom bracket height and 13.25″ chain stay length are pretty common geometries you will find on a frame. Sure, there might be a handful of frames that have similar (or the exact same) geometry, but what makes them different than the others? The “minor details” that are added on to a frame to give it an aesthetic touch, add strength or make for a cleaner fit when parts are installed. There are A LOT of frame options these days, so we decided to cruise around a handful of BMX brands websites to check out a few frames that have some details that make it stand out from other frames. Let’s take a look!
The other day we got a look at the new Roxbury frame from Alone BMX that features a Leopard, Zebra and Snake Skin color options. If you were digging that, then you will be stoked to know that Alone will also be offering their H8H8H8 bars, Spork fork and Hitch fork in the matching color options so you can do a full kit. Let’s take a look at these options!
Fly Bikes have been dropping some sneak previews of their 2016 product range that will be dropping later this year. We got a look at their Tractor XL and Tractor Sprockets and the Fly Bikes X Etnies Tripod seat. Now we get a good look at their new Geo team frame that will be dropping later this year. There wasn’t much detail given, but based off the photos we’re seeing it looks like they have decided to go with gussets on the top and down tubes, a seat stay that some of you older guys might recognize from the Three Amigos frame, traditional removable brake mounts versus the Easy Brake System they use on their frames now and chain tensioners that run through the drop out. Today, Subrosa Brand introduced Lahsaan Kobza‘s new Black Paisley colorway that is featured on their Thunderbeast BMX frame, Code bars and Battle Fork II. To go along with the news, they released a banger of a PROMO VIDEO to bring the news. We were stoked on the look at this special colorway, so we decided to take a closer look!
