DIG caught up with Nina Buitrago and Dani Lightningbolt to get some insight on just why the X Games needs a Women’s BMX class. There’s also a bunch of real solid riding footage in this one from a ton of the girls that were out in Austin last summer for the X Games.
“Some wise words from Nina Buitrago and Dani Lightningbolt as to why they feel a women’s class at Xgames would help encourage more female riders to get involved with BMX. Being a minority within a minority sport/activity like BMX can’t be easy at times, and although at DIG we’re not the biggest fans of the generic contest environment, there are definite benefits from this type of inclusion that could come from it. It’s great to hear these opinions coming from two riders who have always been fully immersed in BMX culture too.

Here’s one we’ve been waiting to see! Fox BMX dropped this brand new video featuring Chase Hawk, Aaron Ross, Sean Sexton and Nina Buitrago, who all call Austin, Texas home! This starts out with some interesting bio’s about these guys, that you might not have known, followed up by some damn good riding from some of the key spots around Austin and a trip to the emergency room! Amazing riding and dialed film work! You can’t pass this up!

Although the girls didn’t get the air time like other events at the X Games, it’s not because they weren’t there throwing down. Here’s a video giving you a look at what went down in the Girls Session that went down with some of BMX’s finest ladies out on the course. Plenty of real solid riding to take in here!
“A squad of BMX ladies had a session on the X Games Park course early one morning this year. Despite almost getting rained out every morning they tried to ride, their 9am session was a fun and laid back one—and the earliest both Ryan Fudger and myself had ever been to an X Games. While I’ve known Nina Buitrago since she pretty much started riding, and I’ve had a few sessions with Dani Lightningbolt, it was cool to finally see the likes of Angie Marino, Nikita Ducarroz, Perris Benegas, Minato Oike, Ellie Chew, and Hannah Roberts all ride in person for the first time after watching them in videos. Will we be seeing a girl’s class in an actual X Games soon? Only time will tell, but from the looks of these girls on the course after less than two hours riding it, the future is foretelling…

Here’s some news we’ve been waiting or, for crew at Pumped BMX have been working on the 3rd version of the game that took over BMX riders phones and consoles around the world. The 3rd version will feature 15 of your favorite riders and companies on new courses with an even better playing experience. Not a lot of info has been released as of yet, but you can expect the game to drop this summer. Check out everyone that will be featured below!

Red Bull dropped this rad new BMX video from a trip to Colorado that Nina Buitrago, Dani Lightningbolt and Perris Benegas recently took to cruise the skateparks and take in the sights! This video is filled up with some great riding from the girls, along with some insight into what it’s like to ride being a girl. Here’s a short but sweet BMX video that Fox dropped online from the Womens Jam weekend that hit the Walnut Creek Pumptrack for a session. Nina Buitrago gives us a little insight while we get a look at some of the riding footage.
“The first ever Fox Women’s BMX Jam kicked off at the Walnut Creek Pumptrack here in Austin, TX bringing over 40 girls along with the majority of the Austin BMX scene present to show their support. Although we are lucky to have one of the largest girls BMX scenes here in Austin, it’s not everyday that we all get to come together for a session, and plan ahead enough for girls from all over to join us!
