GT Bicycles – Power Series Cranks

May 31, 2017

The classics keep on coming from GT Bicycles. Let’s take a look at the new and improved Power Series Cranks!

GT Power Series Cranks BMX

If you have been riding BMX for a long time, there’s no doubt that you’re familiar with the Power Series Cranks from GT Bicycles. These cranks were a staple in history of BMX cranks. Fast forward to 2017 and GT have re-released two versions of the cranks; chromoly and alloy.

Chromoly Power Series Cranks

Up top you can find the chromoly Power Series cranks. These full 4130 chromoly cranks start out with tubular 175mm arms with sprocket bosses on both arms making them right and left side drive copatible. The arms are attached to a 19mm, 48-spline hollow chromoly spindle that allows you to easily run Spline Drive Sprockets if you prefer. Everything is held tightly together by flush mount bolts.

The Chromoly Power Series cranks are available in 175mm only, weigh in at 28.9 oz., chrome for the only color and a price tag of $129.99 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry GT Bicycles worldwide now.

Alloy Power Series Cranks

The original Power Series cranks that started it all. These modernized cranks are made from forged 7050 aluminum with steel pedal inserts, sprocket bosses on both arms making them left and right side drive compatible and 175mm length. You can even find a laser etched logo to match the classics on each arm. The arms are attached to a 22mm, square spline, hollow chromoly spindle with 2 pinch bolts per arm and flush mount bolts to keep everything nice and tight.

The Alloy Power Series cranks are available in 175mm only, weigh in at 34.3 oz., chrome for the only color and also only cost $129.99 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry GT Bicycles worldwide now.

Both cranks will undoubtedly get the job done and will look great on your bike whether it’s a retro rebuild or the bike you’re putting a beating on day in and day out.

Logan Place Spring 2017 Video

May 31, 2017

Here’s a fresh one we had dropped in the inbox this morning by Logan Place giving us a look at what he has been getting into that past few months. Based off the video, it looks like he has been clocking a ton of miles to ride all over the places from the East Coast to the West Coast, hitting up a bunch of skateparks, backyard ramps, trails and street spots. This has a good mix of tricks, keeping things real interesting from start to finish. Also, if you’re around 30, the song used in this will be a bit of a rollercoaster for you, haha.

Bicycle Board VS Trey Jones

May 30, 2017

If you happened to see the The Bicycle Skateboard and the Bicycle Skateboard Flair videos that came out a few weeks ago, then you probably know this contraption that combines a BMX bike with a skateboard can lead to some interesting times. Trey Jones took a trip up to New Jersey to visit Scotty Cranmer and Trey decided to give the setup a test during a session at the Incline Club. It turns out Trey is actually a god on the bicycle board and had no trouble stacking clips on it during a session. Check out what went down!

“The skateboard is back and trying to take people out. But today we have a contender that is ready to punch back, lay down some knuckle sandwiches, arm bars, leg locks, triangle holds, the whole 9 yard. That man is TREY JONES aka THE STONE COLD STUNNER. Trey takes the BICYCLE BOARD AND DESTROYS it. The board never saw it come, 360s, grinds, stalls, slides, and elbows. The bike board has finally been destroyed!!!” – Scotty Cranmer

After you watch the video above, check out the latest FloriDeah video where Trey gives a little behind the scenes look at what it’s like filming with Scotty and the crew.

“As many of you know, Scotty Cranmer’s sister (Kelsey) is my girlfriend, so we make our way up to New Jersey to see the Cranmers a few times a year. We were up there last week and we went out riding. I decided to make a video to see the other side of the crew. Just normal everyday stuff that goes into make a video for Scottys channel. enjoyyyyy” – Trey Jones
