The votes are in! Garrett Reynolds might have won the X Games “Real BMX” contest that was judged by Brian Kachinsky, Jeff Z., Mike Escamilla and Tony Hamlin, but the readers have chosen Colt Fake as the winner of the Fan vote with 31.17% of the vote! Garrett Reynolds came in second with 22.87% of the vote and Dakota Roche with 14.88% of the vote.

A while back we found out there was a documentary in the works to tell the story of Source BMX came about and how Source Park came to be! Here’s a look at the 2nd trailer that just dropped giving you a little more insight into what is to come right around Christmas this year! “This is the story of 2 brothers, Marc and Richard Moore, who started their own BMX shop in their hometown of Bexhill-On-Sea. ‘The Source’ opened in 2003 and with their passion and dedication they have grown their business into a true entity that everyone believes in and stands behind.
With constant shop moves over the years, ‘The Source’ has always kept it’s BMX roots alive by surrounding themselves with elaborate DIY projects from indoor bowls to outdoor jump ramps.
Approaching everything with a positive can-do attitude, has now lead them to their biggest project yet – to build the world’s biggest underground skatepark underneath the promenade of Hastings seafront inside a space that dates back to the 1800’s and has laid derelict for the past 18 years.

It has been a little while since we’ve seen a BMX video out of Matt Blew, but it’s safe to say he’s been busy putting in time on his bike! Anyone who has taken filming for BMX semi-seriously knows that the costs of all the gear from cameras to lenses, lights, editing software, etc. etc. can add up really quick. All those people also know that there’s a real risk for having your setup stolen in a blink of an eye. Unfortunately, Antoine Sabourin had everything stolen and now he’s stuck trying to figure out how to replace 10,000€ worth of cameras, lenses, laptop, etc. The guys at SOUL BMX over in France setup a little GoFundMe style fundraiser page to help get Antoine back up and rolling. “7 years of work gone
Antoine Sabourin worked hard for 7 years to save money and invest in video equipment. Tjis week end he lost everything after a burglary at a friend house. 2 bags of cameras, computer, hard drive full of footage we will probably never see again. 10 000€ worth of equipment, gone. Shock is terrible. Without insurance, the frustration is high, the danger of giving up is real.
No giving up
At SOUL, we put a lot of hope and joy in the new involvment of Antoine on our newt website www.soulbmxmag.com coming soon. Luckily our latest projects with Antoine were saved and almost ready. But what a bummer for the other projects planned this month and the one in the future. And there are some pretty good ones to come. This is why we are making this call for solidarity today, not to hope equiping him with full gear, but just to make him start filming again.

Because Antoine is not your typical filmer, his eye, his sensitivity, his authenticity produced deeply human movies, with of course a lot of rad actions too. Close to the people, he may have paid his famous sympathy, it’s unfair. And here at SOUL we want to see more movies of Antoine. That is why we forced our nature and ask for the solidarity of the bmx familly and beyond. Today we need you.
