Mic’d Up with Dan Paley at Simple Session 2018

Dan Paley was on the loose with a camera and a Mic…

Just when you thought all of the Simple Session footage had come and gone, you were WRONG! Ride BMX was sitting on this video they put together from some time that they let Dan Paley loose on the course with a camera and a mic. As expected, Dan gave everyone shit and lead to plenty of laughs.

“Shout out to putting out a video from an event like two months late. To be honest, I’ve had this about %80 finished for a long time, but debated on putting it out. After showing it to a few people, getting some laughs, and thinking about all the pain and suffering I put both Dan and Gary through to make this happen, I figured I pretty much had to get this out.

Basically, I had planned on doing a mic’d up with Paley during practice. Buuut, my flight got delayed and I missed the first day. The second day Dan didn’t show up. So yeah, why not through a mic on Dan during finals, hand the camera over to my friend Gary Young, and then see what happens?

For the Augie fans out there, Paley and Lacey love giving pretty much anyone shit. If they hated Augie, they wouldn’t even fuck with him at all.” – Ride BMX

Here’s a bit of sponsorship news for the day. Chase DeHart is no longer riding for Etnies. He made the announcement on Instagram (Photo above) with a photo of him trying on some new Vans. No word on when the change happened or why, but it must be recent since this was the first time anything about the change came up. It doesn’t look like Chase is officially riding for Vans, but they are clearly helping him out since he appears to have plenty of options to choose from. In other news, Rich Hirsch commented that he’s rocking the same shoes, so we have a feeling we won’t be seeing any new Lotek’s any time soon.

Joe Doherty has been super busy pumping out these interviews for The BMX In Our Blood Podcasts. Here’s the latest where he sits down with Brian Kachinsky who gives us his full story from how he got into BMX, the reason he started the Uncovered BMX contest series with Van Homan and much, much more. He and Van Homan have created a three stop amateur BMX freestyle series that started in Maryland, continued in Pittsburgh at The Wheel Mill (where this interview took place) and will wrap up at the Four Seasons park in Milwaukee on March 24th.
