History of The Shadow Conspiracy’s Half-Link Chain

December 26, 2016

Do you know the history of the Half-Link BMX Chain? The first half-link chain was the Interlock chain from The Shadow Conspiracy thanks to Byron Anderson and Ronnie Bonner. Here’s a video where Ronnie sits down to talk about how the half-link came to be, the challenges it had to get past and more. If you’re a product nerd, you’re going to be into this one for sure!

“The Shadow Conspiracy broke new ground when they released the first half link chain back in 2004, but it was no easy feat. From countless trips to Asia to meet with factory owners, to having to physically re-tool the pre-existing machines in order for them to produce these weird new half link style chains… it was a long road for Shadow. They truly innovated a product that changed the face of chains forever, even for bicycling inductors outside of BMX! This is the story of how the Shadow Half Link Chain came to be, told be the none other than the company’s founder/owner, Ron Bonner.” – Ride BMX

“BMX Streets” Gameplay Test

December 26, 2016

Matt Poteet hit us up with a link to a video he recorded while testing out the BMX Streets game that is in development. This is the sample for the desktop version that is still in development, but you can currently download a mobile version of the BMX game on your phone now!

“This has got to be the most fun I have had playing a BMX game since the Dave Mirra and Mat Hoffman classics. This game is revolutionary in such a way that it brings about similar controls that skate had but in a BMX game. This is something that the BMX community as a whole has wanted for a long time.

This game will be a revolutionary BMX game for the community. Here is some footage a recorded from the past 2 demo releases and is available for download until January 5th of 2017. A release date of the full game is yet to be determined. So download and experience this great game while you can. The best way to support the development of this game is to pick up a copy of the mobile version “BMX Streets Mobile” in the Google Play and Apple App Store.

I look forward to seeing the final product of this game.

411 Rookies Bio – Justin Inman (2002)

December 26, 2016

It’s hard to imagine the word “Rookie” with Justin Inman, but waaaay back in 2002 he was just getting started with his Pro career and it’s safe to say he was crushing it! Snakebite released his Rookies Bio that 411 Video Magazine did that year, and it’s so damn good. Enjoy!

“411 was a skateboard video mag that tried competing with Props back in the early 2000’s which didn’t last long. Here is a Justin Inman bio that came out not to long after his full part dropped in Blueprint. Give this one a watch to see one of the most stylish riders in his early days.” – Snakebite

Behind the Scenes of Jason Phelan’s “Loch Down”

December 26, 2016

A few weeks back we got a look at Jason Phelan‘s latest video project, Loch Down, where he build a bunch of ramps on a big barge to make a crazy setup to ride. Here’s a behind the scenes look into the project where he get to see what all went into this from the ramp building, diving to rescue Jason’s bike from the bottom of the loch, the actual riding and more. It’s pretty amazing what all went into this project, since you really wouldn’t consider it when you watch the actual video. If you missed the full video, we have re-embedded it below for you.

“I couldn’t be Happier/Prouder with the way this came out. 8 months work all led to this amazing project and Mike King done an amazing job putting this together. Thanks to the support of DeWalt, Extreme and vision ramps for helping bring this to life. Also supported by GT Bikes and bawbags.
