The latest BMX Videos, Products and News!
I’m down in Las Vegas for the next few days for Interbike 2009. So far the plan is pretty loose like last year. I’ll be running around to all the booths bugging everyone, taking pictures, and getting the low down for what’s new and on tap for the next year. I’ll be posting between here and the Dig website. I’ll be hitting up NORA Cup, and that’s about all I have for plans. So check back tomorrow for updates once the show starts officially.
I’m hanging out with a bunch of people at the Dew Tour in Chicago, and randomly a guy says to me “Hey man, I’m Nick Steben”. The name rang a bell, but with all my concussions over the years, it just wasn’t processing right. After a little bit I remembered exactly who he was and it was all good. I’m stoked I had the chance to meet Nick. He is the kind of guy who is doing BMX right. Travels with whatever money he has, rips on his bike, and is in general just a real nice guy. Animal has been a leading name in BMX for quite a few years now. They have been a brand that has stayed true to their image, and continue to progress in many ways. I had the chance to meet David when I was in Chicago for the Dew Tour. Some how we ended up hanging out a ton. We also ended up seeing some pretty crazy stuff go down on the streets of Chicago at 2 in the morning. David is a real down to earth dude who is pretty funny, and really doesn’t seem to stress much. If I were to own an NBA basketball team (You better believe I make that much money), I’d pay him to dunk on everyone since he’s so damn tall. I shot him some questions, and here is what he said. Like most businesses, Country Bikes have had a few issues getting the ball rolling. A lot of times when something falls apart, a lot of people walk away from it. Torsten Pullich would just change things up and make it work. Now, the company is back in full effect and ready for you to check out. I can’t remember the first place I remember seeing something of Matt Colisch exactly. For some reason it always comes back to his part in the old VULT video. Matt has since been doing a lot of things for BMX in the filming and editing side of things. He has been hustling to make ends meet while staying as close to BMX as possible.
