HaroZona

August 3, 2020

The past few months have been weird and challenging to say the least, and it has cut back on travel time for pretty much everyone. Some of the Haro team decided to load up for a road trip to Arizona where they spent some time exploring street spots and parks, just to get out and ride something new. Here’s a look at what they stacked for clips during the trip! Needless to say, the crew consisting of Chad Kerley, Dennis Enarson, Matthias Dandois and Alex Leibrock delivered and there’s plenty of heat to check out in this!

“Suffering from communal cabin fever caused by the Covid lock downs, we got the crew together and hit the road as soon as we heard word that cases were declining and restrictions easing. Weary not to venture too far during these uncertain times, we kept close to home and cruised through the desert to the great state or Arizona, aka HaroZona!

Brian Tunney – July 2020 Clips

August 3, 2020

It’s a new month and that means that it’s time for Brian Tunney to beat up some tennis players put together some fresh clips from the flatland sessions he got in. As always, Brian delivers with some great riding, and a song selection you probably haven’t heard before. This one also comes with a few words on an unexpected struggle caused by COVID below! Check it out!

“Granted, the world is falling apart more and more each day, but here’s the issue I had in July, which is hardly an issue by any standards: I’ve been riding at this outside court near my house for a while now. The place where I ride has no basketball hoops and is typically used by me, skateboarders or one guy that’s really good at jumping rope. But the local tennis courts are closed, so there’s been an influx of tennis players bringing their own nets into the area to try to play tennis. It’s not my area and they can do what they want in the area, but the problem has arisen when they ask me to to move so that they can play tennis.

For the past 30-something years, I’ve been viciously kicked off tennis courts for riding there, and while I understand the no bikes allowed mindset, I’m also a little bit defensive when tennis players come to the place where I now ride and ask me to leave. So there’s been a few tense moments over the past month, with me saying that I ride here all the time, etc, etc. It’s not made riding more fun in the least. Again, this is a non-issue in the grand scheme of things, but I’m still resentful when people participating in other activities deem my activity lesser than theirs, which seems to happen often with Redondo Beach tennis players.

Having said all that, here’s a minute and a half of riding squeezed in between tense altercations with bitter tennis players not allowed to play tennis on tennis courts. Have a great day.” – Brian Tunney

Bloom – Jon Tinsley

August 3, 2020

There’s something about a BMX video with super clean filming and editing that makes for a really good watch. Jon Tinsley is normally on the other side of the camera, but he can ride really good as well. Here’s a look at a fresh batch of footage of Jon cruising spots with his jibby style on a ton of different spots. Add in some great film work and you have a BMX video you won’t want to pass up.

“You would have no doubt seen a bunch of Jon Tinsley’s fabulous video work up to this point, but now we get a dose of him in front of the camera. Jon has an awesome mix of pegless creativity and really sick backwards manual / fastplant variations on display. Really enjoyed this!

United – Ben Towle “New Sponsor, New Bike”

August 3, 2020

United have added Ben Towle to their line up over in the U.K! Hit play to watch Ben dial in his new Incarnate setup to bring the news, and then expect to see more of Ben in the near future!

“UK rider Ben Towle has just made the bump on to the United team and there’s no better way to kick things off and thats by building yourself a fresh new bike.

Ben went for the incarnate v2 in flat black to keep things looking very stealth throughout. Be sure to keep an eye out for Ben and some future happenings from him!” – United

World of X Games – Ryan Nyquist “I’m Afraid of Heights”

August 3, 2020

The latest interview for the World of X Games interview sits down with Ryan Nyquist for just shy of an hour conversation where Ryan talks about a ton of different topics while sweating it out in him and his wifes hot yoga / cycling studio. Ryan is always super entertaining and has a ton of great stories, making for a super good listen with plenty of laughs. If you got the time, definitely get on the play button.

“With the exception of a few vert riders, most of the mid-school BMX professionals from the 1990s and early 2000s have moved on from X Games competition. Not Ryan Nyquist though. Ryan started competing at X Games in 1997 and still gets invited. He’s not getting invites based on legacy either; he’s still progressing his skills on BMX Dirt and Park at a remarkable pace. Despite the everyday demands of family life at age 41, Nyquist manages to make riding a daily priority, and he’s expanded his skills to incorporate some of the world’s toughest lip trick combinations into his riding. Normally, most riders would be happy with a simple x-up over a box jump at age 41, but Ryan Nyquist isn’t done with his endless trick list just yet. Here, Brando catches up with Nyquist from the desert…” – X Games
