Flybikes Flat Raw Savanna 2 Frame Courage Adams

With the way this year has been, it’s no surprise that we’ve seen a pretty sporadic release in products this year from brands. There’s been crazy supply issues, delays with manufacturers, shipping container shortages and overloaded delivery services. But, it’s made it so new products are a little more unexpected.

Flybikes have begun releasing some of their new 2021 products, and it looks like Courage Adams signature Savanna 2 frame from Flybikes has been released in this new Flat Raw color! The Savanna 2 frame is made from full 4130 Japanese seamless chromoly tubing with a 75.5-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.75″ bottom bracket height, 9.25″ standover height and a 13″ chainstay length. They’ve gone with new tubing specs to help reduce the weight without sacrificing strength, a CNC machined 4.45″ (113mm) tall Integrated headtube, laser cut top and downtube gussets internally and externally (double gussets), multi-butted and tapered tubing, an Investment Cast seatpost clamp, Mid bottom bracket, laser cut seat and chainstay bridges and Investment Cast dropouts with integrated chain tensioners. You can find heat-treating on this frame as well. Also note that the Savanna frame is brakeless, so there are no mounts or guides.

The Savanna 2 frame is available in 20.2″, 20.6″ and 21″ top tube lengths with Flat Raw, Gloss Black and Metallic White for color options and a weight of 5.3 lbs. The frame is available for $370.00 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Flybikes worldwide and online, or direct from the Flybikes Website.

Kink BMX – Crosscut Frame

Is it time for a new BMX frame? Get a look at the brand new Crosscut Frame from Kink BMX. This frame is made from full 4130 chromoly tubing with a double-butted top and down tube, gussets on the top and down tubes, an investment cast chainstay yoke for tire and clearance up to 2.55″ and 25 or 28-tooth sprockets. The frame has a 75.5-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 9.25″ standover height, 11.6″ bottom bracket height and a 12.5″ chainstay length (slammed). The frame also featured an internally and externally machined bottom bracket, integrated seat post clamp, removable brake mounts and integrated chain tensioners on the laser cut dropouts!

A Look At How BMX Frames Have Changed In 15 Years

With how dialed BMX bikes have become over the years, it’s pretty crazy to look back and see just how much BMX frames have changed over the years. Mike Fede decided to dig into his stash of old frames spanning the past 15 years to look at just how much they have changed over the years from bearing styles, weight, geometry, designs, materials and heat-treating. This is a really cool look back for the older riders, and probably a pretty crazy thing to see if you are new to BMX and don’t know how we got to where we are these days with the quality of BMX bikes in a fairly short period of time

It has been a bit of a dryspell as far as new and interesting products go lately. We haven’t seen anything too exciting as of late (at least that we have been tipped off to) and it’s good to see something pop up for a change! United have announced that Mike Escamilla‘s signature Caveman frame has been brought back by popular demand for a limited Caveman V2 run! Much like the first version, this frame definitely stands out from the norms of 2020 and has a throwback look to a classic Wilkerson Airlines frame from way back, and it looks awesome. We will point out that this frame will be available for PRE-ORDER TOMORROW, SEPTEMBER 23rd with delivery coming in November, and a price tag of $581.32.
