Alexis Desolneux at the Skatepark of Tampa

March 1, 2018

Alex Desolneux went to work at the Skatepark of Tampa…

It’s always rad seeing the flatland guys riding ramps or street spots because they always come through with something different and uniqe that makes for a video you can’t look away from. This new one Alexis Desolneux uploaded from a session at the Skatepark of Tampa is a perfect example of that. This one might be short and sweet, but there’s some unique lines and a grind I’m sure a bunch of you have never even considered trying in this. Hit play and take a peek! You won’t be disappointed.

“Everything happens for a reason. I met Matt Coplon (who filmed clips and edited this) through writing letters and trading tapes/records of our respective obscure hardcore bands around 1995-96. None of us knew we both loved BMX until 1998 when I mentioned coming over to Florida to enter X-Games qualifications in St-Petersburg. When bridges between the DIY HC/punk and BMX scenes took me on bridges over the Tampa Bay. A place I had only heard of through its death metal history. It’s no coincidence I’m here, I love both. DEATH Leprosy. MORBID ANGEL Gateways to Annihilation. ASSÜCK Misery Index. REVERSAL OF MAN… And now HORSEWHIP. That music scene. These bands and records. These people.
Skatepark Of Tampa. The most iconic skatepark in the world. Supporting BMX since Day 1. UNBROKEN played in 1993. If only I could have been there. Or ASSÜCK. Or any of the many 90’s shows the park welcomed.
2018, I want to see this little edit as a chance to thank SpoT for the great times and all my people in Tampa, from BMX, skateboarding and music, and in more than one case sharing these worlds. Just like flatland can inspire some street/park riding. It’s all connected. This edit wouldn’t be without taking in all of these different sources of energy and inspiration.
Love riding to death. See you next time Tampa.
Peace.

Music:
NO JOY
Slug Night
Wait to Pleasure
Mexican Summer records

Thank you:
Matt Coplon @Profile, Brian Schaefer and crew @SpoT, Jasamine White-Gluz & No Joy, Brett Rohlfing, Lucas Porzio and Tom Sevisual.

Kansas Machine Broken

March 1, 2018

Noah Huntzinger and Rahlin Rigsby do Kansas…

Here’s a fresh BMX video featuring Noah Huntzinger and Rahlin Rigsby having two very productive days in Wichita, Kansas. We don’t see too many BMX videos coming out of Kansas in general, and we can’t remember the last time we saw footage from Wichita, but it looks like the city has spots. Hit play to see what these two were able to cook up during their stay. Both of these guys came through with the goods.

“The day of the Uncovered semi pro BMX competition here at the Wheel Mill Skatepark! So many amazing riders are here to compete against each other and push the limits of BMX bike riding as far as possible! There were so many riders doing some amazing tricks but one rider named Mad Mike stood out in particular to me, He goes by the name of Mad Mike and he is one of the most hardcore powerful BMX riders I have ever seen before! He did the craziest gap to grinds that has ever been done in BMX!” – Scotty Cranmer

Robbie Morales “The BMX In Our Blood” Podcast

February 28, 2018

Robbie Morales sits down for an interview on “The BMX In Our Blood” Podcast…

Here’s another interview Joe Dohrety knocked out during his time at at the FloriDeah Swampfest for The BMX In Our Blood podcast. This time around Joe sits down with Robbie Morales to talk about everything from how he got into BMX all the way through starting Cult on through what he has going on today, riders injuries, life in general and more. You already know this is one that’s worth listening to!

Robbie Morales "The BMX In Our Blood" Podcast Cult BMX

“Ok, I’m a little biased but for good reason. Robbie “Robo” Morales is the real deal. Has he been perfect? Admittedly, no. Who really is? Robbie openly talks about exactly this in the interview. What Robbie has been is an accomplished trail rider, racer, street rider, marketer, company owner and dedicated sponsor to his riders over the years. Having grown up around Robbie I have seen the sincere, the passionate, the obnoxious, the skilled, the fun loving…the everything that makes Robbie who he is today. Everyone learns as they go and Robbie has learned more than most of us in BMX, sometimes the hard way. Bottom line, I want people to get to know the Robbie I know. A mature man that owns everything he has done, perfect and not. I loved taking this interview on and digging into the mind of a passionate BMX lifer that has much left to give. I hope you feel the same by the end of the listen.
Find Robbie at @cultcrew on IG or through the www.cultcrew.com
And please, the next time you see Robbie or contact him on social media…thank him and tell him what an integral part of BMX he has been. We couldn’t and can’t do this without people like him!
” – Joe Dohrety
