Frostbike 2017 – Eclat BMX

February 20, 2017

Let’s keep moving at Frostbike 2017! The next stop was to see what Harry and Paul had on display for Eclat! As always, they have plenty to take in with their extensive line of parts, plus they even snuck a few sneak peeks in for good measure. There’s plenty to see, so let’s get into this one!

Up top we have the Venom Pegs in their new Military green color option!

Let’s just right into a sneak peek that we’re probably more intrigued by than some of you might be, but it’s a cool idea. Eclat are working on their new “Tube Amp” pack that is a two pack of tubes, but they aren’t just your typical tube that has the rubber valve stem like the other ones out there. They’ve opted for a full metal valve stem that MTB / Road brands use with a lock ring to keep the valve in place. This is just a sample, and the ring is supposed to be gold to match the stem, but it still gives you a look at how it looks on the rim. It gives you plenty to grab onto with your pump. Not sure on exact release date, but I believe it’s March since that’s been the time when a lot of brands are dropping some of their new pieces.

As we mentioned above, these Tube Amp packs come with two tubes versus just a single. It’s a little more expensive to buy two, but you ultimately save a little money if you were going to buy two separate tubes. Win / win, right?

Here’s one we’ve seen seeing popping up since last year. Eclat have been working with their Strangler Bars and Slattery stem that use a 25.4mm size versus the traditional size that stems and bars come in. If you’re curious about why thy’re offering this, you can learn all about it right here.

Eclat offer a couple different front and top load stems, so there’s likely an option that’s perfect for you.

Here’s a little sneak peek that Eclat had on display. This is the new Onyx sprocket that is cold forged and will have a different design on each side, essentially making it two sprockets in one since you can run it either way.

The Maverick cranks and RS Sprocket.

Another look at the RS Sprocket and the 4 Stroke half-link chain.

Here’s a look at the Alex Kennedy signature AK Full Guard Sprocket that comes with a replaceable plastic guard. This sprocket has been available for a little while now and you can get full specs and details on it right here.

The Pulse cassette hub with dual hub guards to keep you grinding and rolling smooth.

Here’s a look at the Mirage tire all folded up! You can get a better look, along with full specs and details on this tire right here.

The Alex Kennedy signature neon yellow color on the Raven rim has been getting a lot of buzz lately from riders that have been wanting to get them… The wait is over and they are available now.

Here’s a look at the Seeker pedal in the new Military green color.

The Alex Kennedy signature pedal with replaceable metal pins on a plastic body with an oversized axle and bushings instead of bearings.

Bruno Hoffmann‘s signature Bruno grip in the middle there.

Eclat offer a number of grips and color options.

The Cortex front and rear hub, along with the Teck hub creeping in the background.

Eclat offer a number of seats in Pivotal and Tripod styles and color options.

Can’t go wrong with a proper allen key and a friendly reminder of which way you need to be turning that wrench.

That wraps things up with the Eclat booth at Frostbike 2017! Let’s keep moving!

Eclat – Cortex Front Hub

January 17, 2017

The crew at Eclat have released their new Cortex front hub! This hub starts out with a CNC machined 6061-T6 alloy shell that has 2 sealed bearings with a 14mm, heat-treated 4130 chromoly female axle inside and longer 35mm chromoly bolts to keep things tight. The Cortex front hub has narrower flanges for better spoke clearance, allen key hex on the bolts and each hub comes with the 2 of the new Cortex hub guards to protect the hub from grinds.

The Cortex front hub is available in Black and Polished colors through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Eclat worldwide now! If you’re looking for a complete wheel, this hub is also available in a complete wheel with the Bondi XL, Trippin XL or Polar rim as well!

Eclat – Mirage Tire

January 16, 2017

Eclat have released their new Mirage Tire for you to dial in those wheels of yours with some new rubber. The Mirage tire is Eclat’s new high performance, lightweight street tire that has a 120 TPI construction, dual rubber compound with a smooth center tread and more agressive sides for increased traction while turning. You can also find an outer line of thicker rubber on the sidewall for grind protection and a full-length “Silkshield” layer under the tread and sidewalls. You can be assured these tires are solid because they are made by Maxxis Tires. This tire is rated for a max 110 PSI as well.

The Mirage tire is available in 2.25″ and 2.35″ sizes, Folding and Wire Bead styles and black for the only color through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Eclat worldwide now.

Weight
2.25″ folding bead 18oz / 510g
2.35″ folding bead 19.6oz / 555g

2.25″ wire bead 20oz / 566g
2.35″ wire bead 21.7oz / 615g

We haven’t seen too many folding tires lately, but it’s good to see this tire available in both styles.

Eclat – Dan Coller Welcome to the Pro Team

January 6, 2017

Dan Coller has been given the well deserved bump on up to the Eclat Pro team!

Here’s some good news for your 2017 Sponsor changes! Dan Coller has been given the well deserved bump on up to the Eclat PRO team! To celebrate, here’s his welcome video that’s packed with some insanely dialed rail destruction. Expect to see plenty more from Dan in 2017!

“When it comes to rails, Dan Coller never ceases to amaze. Dan managed to find and conquer all sorts of weird handrail configurations for his welcome to Éclat pro video. Be prepared to get whomped over the head with a serious display of handrail superiority.” – Ride BMX

Cult X Eclat – Kilian Roth Welcome to the Pro Teams

January 4, 2017

So far this year we have only heard of riders getting cut from teams as far as sponsor changes go. Well, here’s some good news for you, for a change! Cult and Eclat have both added Kilian Roth to their Pro Teams! Above is his official welcome video that’s packed full of heat showing you just why they are giving him the bump up!

“Wow! After a horrible ACL injury back in 2015 while filming in Seville, Kilian Roth has been on the rehab game and to call this a comeback is an understatement! We’ve always been massive fans of his riding style and this shows exactly why – precision, speed and all balanced out with a nonchalant way about him. Kilian is a damn weapon and we couldn’t be happier for him that he got the bump to Pro on Cult and Eclat. Well deserved! All hail the tire ride king.

Filmed and edited by Fabian Bader”

Eclat – Seeker Pedal

November 8, 2016

eclat-bmx-seeker-pedal-bike

Is it time for a new set of BMX Pedals? The crew over at Eclat have released their new Seeker Pedals for those of you who prefer a plastic pedal. These pedals start out with an injection molded nylon and fiberglass body with a wider body than most other pedals that is also thinner than the average pedal. You can find 14 molded pins and knurling on both sides of the pedal, along with a few Eclat logos for good measure. One thing you might also notice is the pedal is flat from side to side with a small concave, where most pedals feature a bulkier center to accommodate for the axle and bearings.

Inside you can find a chromoly axle and a dual bearing and bushing combination that allows the pedal to maintain strength without having too much bulk.

The Seeker pedal comes in colors of black and Army green with a weight of 15.97 oz. Available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Eclat worldwide now.
