“Nearly 4K” – Dan Paley Section

Now here’s some serious heat for you! BSD just uploaded Dan Paley‘s section from the “Nearly 4K” DVD online for your viewing pleasure. This features Dan putting down some insanely technical grind combos and charging some extra man sized rails. This is definitely one BMX video you cannot pass up watching.

“BSD is proud to bring you Dan Paley’s video part from the Nearly 4K DVD. Filmed on a one week trip to Amsterdam in summer 2015 with a few clips from Glasgow. If you didn’t know, Paley is currently off his bike injured after dislocating his knee in late 2015, he is improving fast though and will be back on this bike this summer. Look out for the rest of the DVD sections going online later in 2016.

This past weekend was a wild one up in Toronto as the Toronto X Jam went off and a ton of Canada’s finest, along with riders from other parts of the world like the U.S, all went head to head on the park and street courses. With guys like Drew Bezanson, Colton Walker, Nick Bruce, Cory Wiergowski, Steven Moxley, Brandon Webster, Rob Armour and more all in the finals, things definitely got wild. Yesterday things in Toronto went off with qualifying for the 2016 Toronto X Jam! With heavy hitters like Drew Bezanson, Steven Moxley, Joel Bondu, Nick Bullen, Cory Wiergowski, Corey Walsh, Nick Bruce, Colton Walker and more all dropping in, you know plenty of amazing riding went down. It’s that time of the year again for the annual and legendary Toronto BMX Jam, now known as the Toronto X Jam, that has been going strong every year. This year we’ll be seeing a park and street contest and some of Canada’s finest, along with countless others from the U.S and other countries putting in work for around $20,000 in cash and prizes. `The Art of the BMX Sprocket`

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these “The Art Of” pieces, so we figured it would be a good time to take a closer look at one part in particular that we’ve been thinking about lately, the BMX Sprocket. The other day we were bouncing around to a few different brands websites to see if there were any new products or anything else new to see, and we ended up staring at the sprockets. When you think about it, the sprocket is one of those things that can really be altered the most as far as aesthetics go. We’ve seen A LOT of sprockets in BMX’s history, so we decided to stick to sprockets that are currently available. Even with cutting it back to that, there’s still a ton of options available. Add in the different combos between the standard bolt drive, Spline drive, and socket drive, colors, versions with guards, etc. There’s a lot to take in. We bounced around and picked out some of our favorites from a number of brands, which you can check out below with a few words about each! Ready?

`Inside Profile Racing – A Tour with Matt Coplon`

When it comes to BMX parts and products, traditionally the person buying the product only gets to see the product either in the shop they bought it from or a few photos online before making the purchase and seeing it turn up a few days later in a box. Only few ever really see where the product actually was made and came from before getting to that stage. There are only a handful of brands that can say they produce their products in-house in BMX or, really, in the entire bicycle industry, and it goes without saying that it’s an interesting process to see.

We made a trip to the Profile Racing warehouse in St. Petersburg, Florida to catch a tour of the warehouse with Matt Coplon to see just where the hubs, cranks, sprockets, stems and a number of other products are produced for Profile and Madera. Between the freestyle BMX, BMX racing, mountain bike and even car parts they produce, there’s quite a bit to see from the stock to the crazy machines they use to produce everything from a piece of metal into a precision product.

`Cult – Sean Ricany Welcome Video`

Here’s one we have been waiting to see since Cult dropped the first teaser video announcing that Sean Ricany had joined their squad the other week. Watch as Sean absolutely DESTROYS spot after spot in this BMX video that’s nothing short of a MUST SEE. There’s so many crazy grind combos with freecoaster action and heavy double tire rides from start to finish. We’re looking forward to seeing what Sean can get into on trips with guys like Alex Kennedy and Dakota Roche in the future, that’s for sure! `Frostbike 2016 – Wethepeople BMX`

Wrapping up Frostbike 2016, we made our way on over to the Wethepeople booth for a look at their 2016 range of complete bikes, frames and parts they had on display! This had a mix of new items and a few we have seen before. Either way, there was plenty to see at this one, so let’s get into this already!
